I wont shoot a doe but any kind of buck ill take it first shot,casue if you wait most of the time you wont see another deer...its best to take what you can get and not get greedy.....

you have to wait and pass up on little bucks. Deer dont get trophy size in one year, they have to have the chance to grow and mature. if you kill little bucks, in a few years, they arent going to be any big bucks around. But I do kill the first mature doe I see, so I do have some meat for the freezer.

i use to be real bad about killing the first deer...buck or doe...but now i try to wait on a BIG buck...but in doing that i have let a lot of 4 and 6 points go looking for that big one so it hasn't paid off yet

back in the day i would wait till ol freaknasty came through. but now well, eversince uncle ted nugent told me its ok to take the first shot, i usually do.
