With all the recent threads on T's and the different views, I was wondering just how tolerable a ref should be before he pops a T. I think he should be more so with a head coach than a player. Players are read the sportsmanship card before each game, and that is their offical and only warning. I think if a player does not display proper sportsmanship then he should get wacked.
However, I think the coach should be able to vent a little more. notice above i said a head coach. The assistants need to know their role!:ref2:
So refs help us get these boys under control and let em' fly if they wanna act like NBA thugs, make em pay the price. Maybe this will force the coach to enforce some discipline

I think some refs should have a little thicker skin. They need to realize that the kids are playing with alot of intensity and emotion. I dont think the players should be allowed to cuse, taunt or anything like that. But T's shouldnt be called because a player makes a face or says something to himself.
I watched a game a few weeks ago- the player told the ref "you suck". This was done face to face, close enough that their shoes could have touched. Time had expired and that players team failed to make a last second shot to put the game in OT. Now calling a T at this point would not have changed the outcome of the game. The ref proceeded to follow the player to the bench to tell him that his attitude and the comments would not be tolerated. A second player then shouted out: Well you do suck! The coach quickly addressed the situation and called his players down. The coach appeared to be mortified over the outbursts and ordered both players to apologize.

Whats wrong with a player showing some emotions. They dont say anything to them when they score and are fouled and the player starts pumping his fist in the air to show his emotions on a play well done , nothing is said to them then, or how about when a player makes a three and he turns to the oppposing teams fans and holds up three fingers.

Coaches should be able to vent to a certain extent. When they curse the refs I feel they should be T'd up. As for the players they need to be taught to keep their feelings to their self. The taunting should be stopped !!! The refs also need to try to ref and not listen to the fans!! A few of them listen to the crowd more than they pay attention the to game.

I agree bigblue. The refs should never say anything to a fan

They need to let the kids play - and along side of that, the parents need to realize, the kids are playing for thereself, not there entertainment, they are not professionals. Let them play, but dont let it get out of hand.

Players get into the games. Refs should give them a couple of warnings before throwing a T at them. Players work too hard for a technical to affect the momentum of the game.

This seems to be a very contraversial topic. But I could go both ways on this, if a player or a coach complains a little too much then the Ref(s) should give a warning to that player or coach to settle down and regain control. On the other hand if a player or a coach intentionally gets in a Refs face to argue and say that they "suck" or any other derogatory comments then there shouldnt even be a thought of a warning there should immediately be a techinal foul. Those are my thoughts

REFFS should never hear fans and focus on the game to many reffs in the 15th region have a very quick whistle.

Anyone who has ever played sports knows how emotional you can be. Especially when you are playing your butt off and the refs seem to be against you at every turn. It is hard to stay in control of your actions. I believe that a player deserves at least ONE warning. I know that I would have appreciated a chance to cool off before being slapped with a T. We can't forget that even though the players are young and full of emotions there has to be a limit.....:beg:
