Nationals prelims started this morning and small varsity semi finalist and automatic finalists were announced:

Semi-finals will tomorrow, sunday, morning. Finals will be that night.

I almost assumed that Dunbar would be automatic finalists. They are excellent!

I looked at Varsity.com earlier to see where Pikeville placed in the freshman division. I seen that there was another squad competing that wasn't on the original order of appearance sheet. That brought that division up to 3 squads.

I swear, i think its horrible that Hazard High could not make it to the finals. I really thought they were going to do well this year. I expect much more out of the team next year. They only lose 1 person. She isn't a major factor in the team either.

i dont know the circumstances behind them not making it to finals, but i am sure they did their best. Sometimes, a bobble, a fall, a missed tumbling pass, going out of bounds, or any other kind of mishap can take a squad out of the competition. it isnt horrible, it is unfortunate.

Now that they have the experience of nationals under their belt, i am sure they will be more prepared for next year.
