Who are some of the best tumblers?
IMO..
1. Alyssa Cline - Pikeville
2. Bailey Joyce - Pikeville
3. Emily Kidd - Allen Central

JC has quite a few GOOD tumblers. Two I noticed were:
Chelsy Webb (Jr)
Kayla Sublett (Fr)
The Webb girl throws in alot of different tumbles. The Sublett girl made dizzy one game. I counted 12 back hand spings in a row as she tumbled from one end of the court to the other. But, alot of those girls can throw it. Good Job girls!

I think my daughters are pretty good tumblers-to be in grade school. They're in the sixth grade at Dorton Grade School and 1 can do round off and 4 back tucks. That's pretty impressive to me!! My other daughter (they're twins) can do a round off and 1 tuck. They both can do round off and multiple back hand springs. They love tumbling and practice quite a bit.

I agree that kayla sublett is a great tumbler! They need to push her to the limits! If they had her at Florida they would`t had seen stunts not thrown. She has alot of talent, and so does some of the other girls!

I graduated from greenup where i cheered and moved back here... i will give that looney girl props but she needs better form. this is all in fulls.. I have worked with Jody Hackworth at KPT and have heard many good things on the 15th cheer squads.. Its good all the squads are coming along...

One of the twins from dorton can do 4 tucks in a row and she is only in six grade.. Now since we are talkin about g ymnatics.. everyone on Valleys team can do back handsprings and all but three can do 2 step tucks. Thats impressive. And half can do standing tucks. Valley cheerleading hasnt had good tumbling in a long time..Good work girls. :Cheerlead

I think that Shelby Valley's cheerleading squad has come a long way since about 4 years ago. No, they don't have any fulls yet, but I know 3 girls that are for sure working pretty hard on them. They do have full squad handsprings though, and Sara Ratliff has one of the highest round off layouts I've seen in a while.
Alyssa Cline has hit perfection with her full. She's also been throwing this for several years though which is pretty impressive.
Pikeville also has several standing tucks as well as Valley which always looks nice and clean in cheers and when competing.
However, since this thread was to rank the best tumblers here is my list:
1.) That Carly girl from Belfry
2.) Alyssa Cline
3.) Bailey Joyce
PvilleCheerAlum

Definitely!! She has her double full and standing handspring full. She can pretty much throw whatever she chooses!
she probably wanted to go all-stars because double fulls are illegal in high school competition now.
Alyssa Cline can throw bounder fulls (full straight to full) and a standing 2-handspring to a full. Im pretty sure at one point she was throwing a double, but there is no point in it now since they are illegal. Bailey Joyce used to do a standing 2-hand to full but hasnt done it in competition recently.
pikeville's squad has 13 standing backs. On pikeville as well, Lora cleary is throwing her full now, collins kurkowski throws a full, and jessica justice throws one as well.

I DON'T KNOW WHO EITHER OF YOU ARE! And NO she wouldn't have made a difference in FL. BUT, Please leave her name out of this. She is doing exactlly what she wants to do right now. If you guys are going to throw someone's name around, throw your own kids around. She has nothing to do with what is being said on here. So please :beg: leave her out of it. I will agree though that she is a great tumbler, and I'm intitled to bragg, But, it takes a team effort to compete and win at something like cheerleading. Good Luck JC in your upcoming events. :Cheerlead

I am tired of all the Johnson Central slamming. It is a shame that the Sublet girl has her name posted on her everytime you read this thread. It is clear who her mother is and who another mother of a child on the Black Squad that quit the competition squad are, case closed. Some parents are not able to be satisfied with thier kids in a team evironment. Cheerleading is a team activity and no one child should be highlighted. I think the JC squad is as weak as they have been for a long time. The bottom line is you can have tumblers who do a hundred fulls, it does no good if your mounts always fall and one mount has fallen for two years now in most competitons. I will address what is wrong in the next few paragraphs.
The problem is not Mrs. Sturgill. She lays out a good program and works the kids hard. The problem is with kids and parents who are not commited to the competion level. It takes a great deal of practice, conditioning and commitment to compete at the State level in any sport and it is just not here with this group as a whole this year.
In most sports programs at the high school level only the kids that have the abiltity and work ethic to suceed make the team. This is can be a hard lesson, but a fact. JC should not have three cheerleading squads. This rewards a lot of kids and parents who do not want to work, and it distracts from Mrs. Sturgill's time. The parents of the girls that do not make the competion squad, or quit, are always the ones that cause all the problems. My soultion, pick one squad and concentrate all the efforts and time on these kids. Don't most schools do this anyway?
JC has several girls who have the talent to make any team, not only in this region, but on national teams and could participate on the college level. They have chosen to stay with thier friends and school. It is not fair to these kids who have the abiltiy to bring honor to JCHS and themselves, to have to be part of a group of kids and parents who are not commited to the same.

from Sheldon Clark if thats who you are referring to is Nikki Presley. She didnt compete because her appendix burst and did something weird and instead of taking it from her side it was behind her intestines so they had to cut down her stomache instead. She couldnt compete because of it. Shes had a rough time from it and is finally starting to get better...we love you Nikki and i hope you get everything back and do great next year!!!

Since when was there rivalry in cheerleading??
ok boomer where you been?
cheerleading = rivalry
But really not individual people, just between squads. it's good for competition day, everyone brings it to the mat!:Cheerlead

** I'm not trying to start anything. I know it's good to have rivalry. But ONLY to a certain degree!! Why trash talk the whole year? That only makes everyone mad and causes a lot of pressure and un-needed stress.
** I think everyone is good and the competiton is going to be tough this year, but I can't stand when people trash talk. Especially focusing on one squad. I'm impressed with every squad I've seen this year and I think that all of them will be tough to beat. Good luck and be safe!

JCHS has a group of senior girls who are very talented and work very hard under Antita Sturgill.
Megan Reel is one of the best tumblers in the region on this squad. In addition to cheering, she also has been a state performer on the swim team and does both at the same time.
Even though Megan has not had the formal gymnastic training alot of the girls in the region have and is nursing a leg injury, she has attracted alot of attention at some college camps she has attended and has the athletic ability to perform at the next level. Look for her to shine by KAPOS.

However, you won't see the full potential of tumblers during basketball season because full's are illegal on the gym floor.

Brittany Moore from SC is a very good tumbler. She was supposed to do 3-and-a-full in the opening but pulled an upper thigh muscle a couple of weeks ago so it hindered her. She can also do an excellent front punch, but again the thigh has been a problem. Megan Stepp is also an amazing tumbler. She can do probably anything but a full, and I wouldn't be surprised if you see her doing it next year. She can do anything running OR standing. Her pass last night was three bounders....better than anything I could ever do in high school and I was a very good tumbler. Jackie Smith is also a great tumbler. Megan and Jackie will be seniors next year and I know they'll be working toward whatever it takes to go to state.
Our best tumbler cheers at River Cities now. I haven't talked to Nikki Presley in a couple of months, but I know she now throws standing back-handspring full, which is better than anything I saw last night. I have no idea what her running pass is, but when she was a sophomore (2 years ago) she threw full-hand-hand-full, and I'm positive she's much better now!

No, the girl from Magoffin threw standing 3 handsprings and a full. I've seen the routine twice and each time it looked like 3-full to me....I could be wrong though. Nikki throws 1 standing handspring and then a full. But the girl from Magoffin was awesome... I'm not trying to take anything away from her.

Megan Reel from Johnson Central has thrown a full for three years. She broke her leg while tumbling in December and has not recovered enough yet to do one. Hopefully she will be able to by the 57th district basketball. I was impressed that she was back on the floor in short order considering her injury.
With all the talent in the area, why does someone not start an all star team for the girls who are serious about competition so the girls do not have to go Huntington or Lexington? Alot of great girls on some of the weaker teams do not get a chance to compete if they get beat out at KAPOS and it seems a waste with their talent.
