I know that Prestonsburg has not looked good in a long time but i think that this year could be different..... they have another good pitcher in Brenton H. and i think that they will win the district and might even make some noise int the regional...........

Prestonsburg should be fine, Hamilton will help them out a lot.

Hamilton will win all their games but maybe two...I can see a 7 win season...

I'd like to see P-burg compete a little better because last year was an embarassing year for P-burg, but people say they'll be good every year and then they're not...

At P-burg baseball is a JOKE! They have a lot of talent but change coaches year in and year out. Hopefully this year things will turn around or atleast a 5+ win season.

I don't look for P-burg to make any noise in Region, much less their District. BTW, who's in their district?

Same as in basketball... Allen Central, Betsy Layne, and South Floyd.

I dont think Prestonsburg will do much this year. Hamilton will win the majotiry of their games, but that wont be more than 7 or 8. Brenton is a friend of mine and i want him to suuceed but i dont see him or Prestonsburg doing it...

yeah they will do fine this year i think they have a lot of seniors that are playing that is comming out this year... possibly jesse chaffins, trevor compton, cory tincher and others are comming out this year.

I know Compton and Chaffins are good athletes, but who knows what they can do in baseball..? I guess we will find out. I think its safe to say it'd take a miracle for Prestonsburg to have a top baseball team. Hopefully Hamilton can put together a good season, from what I've read and heard he sure has taken a lot of criticism. He deserves to have a good season, and although he may not be on a successful team, at least he'll get to swing a bat this year, which is more than I can say about his career at Pikeville.

I don't think any expects P-burg to compete for the region, just do better then they have the past couple of years.

I see probably a 5-6 win season for the blackcats this year! I heard just yesterday that Brenton Hamilton has put on quite a bit of weight. This was a problem last year at Pikeville and it definitely cost him some velocity! I expect it will do the same this year!

I've thrown a bit with Brenton and it doesn't seem to be affecting him any.

He'll do just fine, give him a break.

They should get around 7-9 wins, but maybe after a few years and if their program decides to let a coach stay in the position for a while and build a distinct program, they may make some noise.

Wait and see if p-burg doesnt open some eyes in the 15th
Have 3 solid pitchers with Hamilton being the #1 man followed by Stephens and Rodebaugh. They lost alot of seniors last year which in my eyes will be an improvement. With a new coach and a few big bats p-burg will come out of the district and make some noise in the region.

Who are the other pitchers??? i have never heard of them. did they have any wins last year??

Coach Mac
02-01-2005, 01:34 PM
brenton is their only player and hes not that good
all he can do is pitch
p-burg will win 3 or 4 games this year because brenton may win games but if the team he plays hits the ball they will win becasue the blackcats have no D

blackcat

Prestonsburg D will be much better this year.

I just hope Coach Mac can make it to a few of p-burgs games....clearly he has no idea....i think everyone is basing p-burgs program on the past few years
This year will be different and i wouldnt be suprised to see a 10+ win season....I guess Coach Mac will have to see it to believe it

Why are Pikeville people posting about P-burg being terrible or will not have a 3+ win season.

Must be a little SOUR because Hamilton left. :?:

Hamilton is a good pitcher, he wasnt really a guy to come in an over power the batter. But he was good about keeping the ball low and making his defense work behind him, and I think pikeville had a great defensive team. But unless hamilton can strike everyone out or p-burg can learn to field, then he will sturggle.

Brenton is a great player. Not only will he help Pburg out with his pitching but the young man can hit the ball very good also. IMO Pburg will be better than what everybody else gives them.

blackcat
02-26-2005, 06:41 PM
Hamilton is doing good with the bat considering he never touched one at Pikeville.

P-burg's defense IMO is much better then last year, which will help Brenton out.

Brenton just wont be surrounded with the talent that he was at Pikeville, but P-burg will be better this season

P-burg will be better just when hamilton is on the hill. You all are talking about a team that plays 12 games a year, and i dont know if they even won last year they will still be a push over. They might do all right against a decent JV team.

I don't think there is any team that only plays 12 games, if they did they would be a .500 team considering they won 6 games last year. :? P-burg could beat any JV team in the 15th.

pburg may be better...but they 100% will NOT win thier district...with allen central in there, i dont see it feasable for them....they will have to hit VERY well and play even better D against them....as for region, if they make it, they will be gone after game 1 i would think

Why do you say that?

P-burg played AC in the wooden bat tourny and only lost 4 to 1 throwing there number 5 pitcher with a key player out.
