Daniel Harmon......KId was awsome...seen him hit the gap againsy Grundy last year took a lick (#61 outside linebacker)that echoed like ya was in a tunnel...got up and ran wild for 4 quarters....wished he"d stayed at Shelby Valley...definitley a loss for them..
#2 pick..Jordan Ellis Grundy....kid was a blocking back and through the halfback option...give him the rock and he"d lower his head and get 8 if ya needed 7....love the kid really turned it on this year with every oppertunity he got to touch the ball..most unselfish player I ever was around..

Nathan Dillon is a good one...Does anybody remember Cody Ratliff a couple years ago? That kid was amazing and Cody Reynolds from last year. Even though he transfered to Paintsville he was still one **** of a back at JCMS

Roy G. Eversole(hazard)...last two years have had an amazing backfield in Austin Blanton, Michael Campbell, and Mikael Campbell

Inez has had some special backs come through in the past few years. Moe Spradlin, Jamie Jarrett, Brandon May, Ryan Kelly, Ian Bertling, Matt Slone, & Channing Smith were all really good middle school backs. Smith has another year ahead of him as well.
Scotty McCoy was a good one who began at Inez but transfered to Johnson Central when his family moved into Johnson County. JCMS also had Chad Yates who was tough in middle school.

BJ Bryant and Matt Tackett from South Floyd was the best two grade school Backs I have ever seen in Grade School football in eastern Ky. both averaged well over 100 yards per game and were amazing.

Cody reynolds(paintsville),daniel harmon(pikeville), and quirvon merchant(pike central) all of these kids were dominate in middle school and all of them from virgie, if they would have stayed with SVHS they would be an **** of a backfield to have on your team.

yeah virgie wins it all every year it seems like and still doesn't go all the way in high school. they should try to maintain their kids.

I know COOPER......, on the 6th grade team yesterday I saw the SKAGGS kid for the first time since he has never played football before. MAN OH MAN what a runner. I heard that he had 2 touches the first game and 2 TD, The first time he touched the ball yesterday he scored from 75 yards out. Man child on the field. Mac Boggs is not as fast but the same size as Skaggs but Mac is only 10 this year and will play 6th next year. Mac Is another kid you will be hearing alot about. He is over the weight limit for JFL this year weighing in at 135 pounds as a 10 year old but he is 5'8" tall. Heis going to be a beast too.:devilflam

I won't comment on anybody below 8th grade. Even 8th and Freshmen are too early to call for me. To many variables. Some kids mature faster than others, some have a late growth spurt, some have a terrific work ethic and want to get better, some don't want to work to get better, some get burnt out on a sport.
Skaggs is a terrific athlete for a kid that young but he definitely has the pedigree. Mac is a great kid. But who knows about any of them at that age. The kid that sits at the end of the bench in 6th grade might just end up to be an all state player in high school.
Dude, you really need to go see Edwards play.

I watched him play Thursday against LC's 7th grade team. He looked very impressive on both sides of the ball. He has a lot of speed.

All very good points FBALL. You bring to my mind current and past players that fit each variable.
I will make it a point to go to go watch Edwards play. His big brother Chad graduated with honors from the school of hard knocks. The Edwards kid may be motivated by his big brothers "Big Ring". I hope my younger son will be motivated by his bigger brothers ring one day. But, I'm still waiting.........

Not unless they changed the laws and you can drive when you are 14. He is fifteen now.

JJ always was a tough kid, small but strong. A standout in football? Probably not, depends on opponent. Why isn't Hunter James ever mentioned? Turner O'Brian? Chandler Shepherd? Wade Skaggs? BJ Jarrell? Ramsey Compton? Blake Bradley? These kids have proven over and over that they are on the field to play ball-

Good point dirty dawg. They are all exceptional players. Turner O'Brian has a lot of speed and is hard to catch, Hunter James can find a hole anywhere, BJ Jarrell is an explosive player, Chandler Shepherd is just simply amazing. But lets not forget the boys on the front line that make it possible for them to do the things they do.

Your'e right-the offense could do nothing without the defense and those boys always make a point of "thanking" the blockers-
Never overlook Brody Preston, Cole Cyrus, Landon Copley, Jacob Holbrook and the others I can't think of on the line

Not unless they changed the laws and you can drive when you are 14. He is fifteen now. If he is 15 now that would make him 16 as freshman,17as soph, 18as a jr., 19as sr. If I,m not mistaken Oct. 1 is the cut off day for turning 19 your sr yr and still being able to play so he could possible lose his sr yr.if he already turned 15 in the 8th.
