There is NO way Jayme McCarty is #1.  I believe Daniel Pugh showed how good McCarty really is when he has someone gaurding him who can actually play defense.  Pugh held him to 4 points til he pulled three 3's off at the end of the game finishing with a total of 13.  McCarty is a top 5 player, but NOT #1.

I totally agree, IMO he may have been the most overrated player in the region during the 05-06 season. He's not convinced me that he's even top 5 next year. My list would be:

Unfortunately, it is hard to become a better player when you get almost zero playing time. The time I saw Trevor play he was a force on the rebounding. He never really shot much, uh well because he never got the ball. Pburg's coaches staff apparently teaches no skills. Several kids on this team has shown no improvement from one year to the next. Why is this?  Maybe his parents should have held him back 7 or 8 times so he could be a 16 year old 8th or 9th grader. I think he is a 16 year old Jr.

I haven't seen Valley play that much this year.  I know you can't base these type of decisions on one game, but did you see these players against Pikeville?  Jacob Bryant 1 point.  Other than Jackson----not much there.  Valley plays much better against a team that plays no defense i.e. Paintsville.  The game between Valley and Paintsville was nothing but a shooting contest with Paintsville not hitting their shots.  That's why Valley won.  Pretty simple.

From what I seen over the summer camp, there isnt any way that Trai Whitt will be even in the top 20....

2.Landon Slone-Paintsville-Good performances night in night out, Must lead team.
3.Jamie Case-Belfry-Belfys go to guy with Maynard gone.
4.Ethan Johnson-South Floyd-Great shooter and quick off the dribble.
5.JD Vanhoose-Paintsville-Excellent spot shooter, will get easy looks with teams talent.
6.Jesse Meek-JC-Best Defender in the region, great athlete.
7.Matt Clevenger-Pikeville- Good basketball IQ..will have to be solid every night.
8.Jacob Bryant -SV-Can take it to the rack strong, shakey under pressure...basketball IQ is questionable.
9.Jaryd Crum-JC- Quickest player off the dribble in the region...great ballhandler with potential to be a top player in the region in 07/08
10.Shane Grim -Paintsville- Glue guy...not the best player but the most important.

Dillon Huges #10 and Chris Yates #2 from valley really impressed me...

Huges had i think 2 int, 1 for a TD with one force fumble and alot of 2 pt conversions
and Yates had a ton of big breaks just kept gettin called back. But there my fav. havent really watched any other team but will keep an eye out.
