Which region do you think is better? I am def gonna have to say the 15th. And I think the 57th district is the best in that region.

I think the 57th district will be one of the more competitive districts in the state this year.
15th is the best of the 3.

16th can hold its own against the 15th. Let them play with neutral umpires and let talent decide. Boyd,East,,Russell,Raceland,Ashland, Fairview......I say the 16th would be better. :1:

I would have to go with the 16th Region.
Boyd County, Ashland, Russell, Fairview, East Carter, Greenup County, Rowan County, West Carter, Raceland, Morgan County, Fleming County, Bath County, Rose Hill, Elliott County, Lewis County, and Menifee County.
2005 Season:
Boyd County ended their season with a 33-8 record, and a state semi-final apperance.
Which Pikeville ended their season also with a 33-8 record, but they went 2 and out in the semi-state.
2004 Season:
Ashland ended their season with a 26-12 record, which they got knocked out in the 2nd round against Johnson Central 1-2.
Johnson Central ended their season with a 23-18 record, they knocked out Ashland in the 2nd round, and went on to loose in the semi-finals.
I'll post more later...

2003 Season:
Lawrence County ended their season with a 24-8 record, getting beat out in the second round to Apollo.
Allen Central ended their season with a 17-12 record as they got knocked out in the first round by Lawrence County.
2002 Season:
Boyd County finished their season with a 22-16 record as they got beat out 0-1 in the first round by Middlesboro.
Pikeville finished their season with a 26-8 record as they also got beat out 3-4 in the first round by Lee County.
2001 Season:
Boyd County finished thheir season with a 29-6-1 record and State Baseball Championship winning it all as they edged out Paintsville in the first round and Ballard in the finals.
Paintsville ended their season with a 27-9 record as they got blanketed in the first round by Boyd County 0-7.
This is only a few reasons why I think the 16th Region is strongest. Everyone has their opinions.

I think Boyd County has the best team out of the 3 regions; however, this season the 15th may have a few more quality teams than the 16th. Especially with Lawrence moving to 15th this season.
Boyd, East Carter, Ashland Blazer, Greenup are prolly tops in the 16th
Pikeville, JC, Paintsville, SC, Allen Central, Lawrence Co are all contenders for a region title and with the addition of Lawrence -- 15th has the edge this year.
Both are tough though and have tough programs at the top.

What kind of inter-region match-ups are there going to be this year? I know AC plays a few teams from the 14th Region:
Breathitt County
Hazard
Knott County
Wolfe County
Leslie County
Letcher Central
Buckhorn
Which other 15th Region teams play teams from the 14th and 16th Regions. We could keep track and decide by the records which region is tougher.

I did a little research. The results are only as good as the records indicated on KHSAA.
Here are some key stats:
Win Loss Record
14th: 117-118 (46 losses by weakest 5 teams)
15th: 122-120 (32 losses by weakest 3 teams)
16th: 121-122 (48 losses by weakest 4 teams)
Regional Breakdown
14th v. 15th: 9-10
14th v. 16th: 6-5
15th v. 14th: 10-9
15th v. 16th: 11-13
16th v. 14th: 5-6
16th v. 15th: 13-11
Looks pretty even there. The overall win loss records are skewed with poor teams at the bottoms of each region. Here are the skewing teams:
14th Region:
Jenkins 0-10
Buckhorn 3-10
Jackson City 3-7
Breathitt Co. 3-7
Cordia 4-12
15th Region:
South Floyd 1-8
Shelby Valley 4-13
Prestonsburg 4-11
16th Region:
Rose Hill 1-11
Menifee Co. 1-13
Elliott Co. 2-10
Lewis Co. 1-14
The records against each region are good indicators, but we need to evaluate how many victories were against the poor teams listed above.
14th Region
44-11
15th Region
36-7
16th Region
40-8
Also, here is a breakdown of the top three teams (by victories) in each region versus the other regions:
14th Region
Leslie Co. 17-1 (Overall) 2-1 (vs. 15th ) 0-0 (vs. 16th ) 3-0 (vs. weak)
Letcher Central 12-7 (Overall) 5-1 (vs. 15th ) 0-1 (vs. 16th ) 5-0 (vs. weak)
Perry Central 11-7 (Overall) 1-0 (vs. 15th ) 0-0 (vs. 16th ) 2-0 (vs. weak)
15th Region

Sheldon Clark 13-6 (Overall) 0-1 (vs. 15th ) 3-2 (vs. 16th ) 3-0 (vs. weak)
Allen Central 11-4 (Overall) 2-0 (vs. 15th ) 0-0 (vs. 16th ) 4-0 (vs. weak)
16th Region
East Carter 17-2 (Overall) 1-0 (vs. 15th )1-1 (vs. 16th ) 6-0 (vs. weak)
Russell 16-9 (Overall) 0-0 (vs. 15th )1-0 (vs. 16th ) 3-0 (vs. weak)
Fairview 15-5 (Overall) 0-0 (vs. 15th )6-2 (vs. 16th ) 7-0 (vs. weak)
