Shelby Valley had bases loaded in the top of 1st with no outs, but they failed to plate a run. Pikeville played sound defense behind Gooch, who recorded 14 K's. Bentely was on fire at the plate as she collected three of SV's 6 hits (2 doubles). Colvin collected similar stats as she went 3-3 and drew a walk. Her bases loaded double in the bottom of the 6th doomed SV's chance of winning. SV got little offensive support from the bottom half of the lineup. Still, it was a typical Pikeville/Shelby Valley game...good pitching, sound defense, and good plate appearances. Good luck to both teams!
