what is your opinion of male cheerleaders?
i kno at some schools, even though it is against title 9, the coahces dont allow male cheerleaders

Hurley

i think it would actually help alot of squads

ComfortEagle
02-22-2005, 09:17 PM
As long as they can lift the cheerleaders, yeah.

I think all squads need atleast one strong guy cheerleader. A guy could help take a lot of the pressure off some of the girls on lifting.

The guys could mainly focus on lifting while the girls focus on cheering, but I dont know much about cheerleading

Well, most male cheerleaders are buff. I wouldnt mess with them lol

But, I agree with bessie.

well, alot of schools in this area dont want to have to compete as a co-ed squad against Belfry because they are known to have phenominal(sp.) male cheerleaders...most schools, or mine at least, at too wimpy to compete with them....pshh!

I think male cheerleaders would help out any squad mainly because it'll give them more people and while the guys lift the other girls that would normally lift could flip or whatever. I know at my school however, we wouldn't have any guys go out because of all the discrimination against them and plus we're lucky to have enough girls to go out for cheerleading.

Well at Belfry, The male cheerleaders are from the football team. They are definitely not discriminated against. I think it's a great addition to any squad to have them.

Males on cheerleading squads are a lot of help. From a past experience they help a lot. They are usually pretty strong and good at tumbling, which diffinately helps.

yeah male cheerleaders are a good thing. They can help the squad out tons if they are strong and take gymnastics. I know that Belfry has some good male cheerleaders. In jr.high this season I saw that Elkhorn City had a couple.

i could see a man telling his grand kids in 30 years " I was the best cheerleader in the school. thats not cool but if he tells them i was the best running back around. now thats cool. IMO

you have a great point. i got a back injury my junior year from lifting. i was a base at the time. it would have been nice to have a strong guy to do it instead of me. haha

But what if he could tell his grand kids he was on a state championship football team and oh yeah the cheerleading squad in which he also participated in finished second in state..impressive no matter who you are....

I guarantee you that not one of our male cheerleaders would say that they regretted cheering.

Belfry has some good male cheerleaders. those big burly guys throwin up those girls all the while looking up their skirts. Thats OK in my book

But when I see a 110lb girly man doin cartwheels and what have ya it just aint cool..i'd say those guys get a lot of crap from everyone else in that school. When ya look at all the cheerleaders in a squad and it takes you 15 minutes to realize a guy is mixed in there, I just dont care too much for that

Usually the smaller guys are the ones who have been taking tumbling and gymnastics classes their whole lives. Guys arent just for throwing girls up in the air. A guy with good tumbling skills can be a great asset!

I know a guy from eastern KY that cheers for an all-star squad in lexington and is going to be in a cheerleading movie soon!! i dont think he is catching any grief for that!

Come on Samuel L. Jackson is the coolest man on the planet and he can tell his grandkids that he cheered. So can George W. Bush, Micheal and Kirk Douglas, Steve Martin, and Tommy Lee Jones.

Well male cheerleaders get a good work out and get to hang out with the female cheerleaders for hours at a time, at practice games, competitions, who is really the "gay" (don't mean anythign bad by this) one here. Not to mention all of the physical enduarnce they will gain from this, lifting the females and throwing them up in the air and maintaining them in thier mounts.

Must male cheerleaders and pretty strong........I think its something good for football players who dont play basketball to cheer, helps them keep in shap and increases strenght......And all I have to say to guys who think that guys shouldnt cheer is to just go to a co-ed practice and you'll see for yourself. I mean whats worse taking a shower with several naked guys or hanging out and touching girls....So rock on guys, rock on

I disagree, its a good workout...and if u think its gay, tell a Belfry cheerleader that. If hanging out w/hot girls is "gay", then there are a lot of "gay" dudes out there.

I think guys could cheer if they are strong and can actually lift and tumble.....but if they are scrawny and girly then absoulutley not that just will make them look gay....

That's funny...because it seems to me that most gay guys would want to play a sport like football, that way they can be around other guys in tight pants, get to slap them on the butt, and take showers together...Period!!!:shh: ;) :big grin:

male cheerleaders would help a cheerleading squad out alot.....they would be able to do better stunts....stunts that they want to do and have tried but can't because they are not a co-ed squad....so yea let them cheer if they want.

Male cheerleaders are great to have. I dont see why people call them gay. If you ask me i dont think they are i mean they are around girls all the time, they get to touch their butts and look up their shorts/skirts. whats gay about that? Cheerleading looks a whole lot harder then any other sport.

gay guys or perverts it still dosen't change the fact cheerleading IS a sport and if someone enjoys a sport it dosent matter what there sexuality is.. and if someone is a male cheerleader to be a perv there going to find out real fast its not an easy sport and being around girls all the time isnt a cake walk either

Don Don is good to be only a freshman. I say the time he is a senior he will be awesome. He will do good for Phelps squad, their good anyway, but he is just a plus.

I think its perfectly fine if a boy wants to be a cheerleader take ER for example.  Tha Freshman Jordan Looney is a cheerleader and just made the squad better withhis awsome athletic tumbles. So boy cheerleaders are perfectly fine :flame:

Male cheerleaders and/or dancers are awesome.. I say if a guy can do the stuff dancers & cheerleaders can do, then he needs to do it.. because it isn't easy. I respect the guys! :)

DJ Mabe is one bad MOFO.  he can cheer like a girl>  But hes a guy.  but hes badass let me tell you.  flips and flops he can do it all.  hes not a flamer either, stright up hard core male.  He only a Jr. too, so if you want to get some fellow male cheerleaders, well come getcha some.

Man D.J Mabe is off the hook. He can flip, cheer, fly, man this guy can do anything. Man let me tell you this guy has got some spirit. He's amazing, he's got the spazzle, dazzle, + he's stylin and profilin, wheeling, dealing, son of a gun.
