Madison County infant continues to recover after police say she was abused by her mother's boyfriend. It happened in Berea on Tuesday night. Police arrested the boyfriend Wednesday night.
Thomas Hickle is sitting in the jail in Richmond because police said what he did to baby Kaitlin could effect her for the rest of her life.
But, one woman who knows him says there is no way the Tommy Hickle she knows would do something like this.
Police say the baby's mother left Thomas Hickle alone with her Tuesday night and when she returned the baby wasn't moving.
She took her to Berea Hospital then to the UK Med Center where doctors said the baby had been shaken and could have permanent brain damage.
The baby was moved out of intensive care Thursday night but is still in serious condition.
Hickle was arrested and charged with first degree assault.
