Jenkins looked sloppy on both sides of the ball and just couldn't really get things going like they wanted. I think there defense didn't give up but 77 total yards. They both ran the 10 offense/10 defense plays. Jenkins caused 5 fumbles and recovered 4. But a win is a win is a win! Would also like to say that Magoffin's new coach is a CLASS ACT and really has a future with his team! Good Luck to both teams!

Wow. I thought Coach McCoy would have gotten more out of his team. Sounds like Magoffin is in alot of trouble. 0 points against Jenkins doesnt say much for the Hornets. Congrats on the win Cavaliers.

I know Magoffic has a Freshman QB and runs the wishbone which is alot of pressure on any kid. But he has to work his system in and take his beating before the players buy into it!

Magoffin was a BIG athletic team all around! I know #54 has some of the best closing speed that I have seen in a LONG TIME! But I am proud of the Big Green, but you can't be satisfied. This scrimmage was HUGE to both teams in preparing for the season@! Good Luck to both teams!

The wishbone is a good system when you have a young QB because the RB's carry much of the load offensively.
But your QB has to execute each play with the proper steps and good rides and fakes. It's my favorite offense, but also one of the most difficult to learn and run.

They will have to get better at that for sure, they also need to work on speed

Magoffins team last year wasn't very good but they would have beat the crap out of this bunch. Man, All you people do is refer to how terrible last years team was. They did get 1 win and they got 3 the year before with a ton of talent. This years team will get 0 wins and and in 2 years all you yahoos will be talking about how bad the coach is. You brought back you know who and I predict 0-10. Sheperd would have rushed for 300 yards against this bunch. So after this season lets talk about how bad last years team was. What a joke.

No one was saying anything bad about the new coach.. most people was talking about how he was a class act.. and its just the started of the pre-season.. a scrimmage game.. now he can see what he needs to change around and i see magoffin having a good team..

The admistration has chosen Coach McCoy to build a program and he will succeed. Everyone is behind football this year and that hasnt been the case the last few years. In 2 yrs he will have the progam on its feet. He has the support all he needs now is the kids to come out and play.

Mr. Football, i dont know what your beef is with Coach McCoy. Yes maybe some of the teams of Magoffin past could beat this years team, i dont know. What i do know is Magoffin has had some good solid players in the past and some very sorry and inexperienced coaches. You might as well out farmer Fran out there off of the waterboy cause that is the experiences your coaches had in the past. Coach McCoy has coached at Greenup Co. and until late was a very solid 3A school that was in the playoffs ever year out of a tough District. He then was at SC where in his tenure their under Jim Matney, went to numerous regional finals games in class 3A and even made it to play the Highlands Bluebirds lead by former UK QB Jared Lorenzen. He then was at JC and in his first season as Defensive Cordinator, JC had an undefeated regular season and got its first ever district title in class 4A, and the defense that he called held teams to an average of 13 points a game while the offense scored 32. Coach McCoy has the experience and the will it takes to build a solid program out of Magoffin Co. but its going to take alot of time and that is something the administration is going to have to understand. I always thought Magoffin had good players and now they have someone who can coach them and get them to the next level if they are willing to go there.

You Magoffin people have a hard time understanding so let me explain it like your 6 years old. No-one is on McCoys back at all. The point is wherde weas the support before. Even with coach Brown, NO SUPPORT. Mabey Brown could have been successfull if he had a little more support. Mabey with a little SUPPORT, Brown could have had a winner. Why didn't you have support before now. For you the fan, Who obviously never had history 101, Little big horn, Custard vs. the Sioux, Well Custard had a better chance pal. I've said more than once, McCoy is the best hire ever at Magoffin. Where was all this so-called SUPPORT before now? Good chance it might have made a difference. Says alot when you say we'll support this guy but before who cared. Mabey, Just mabey the lack of support before is part and I say part of the reason you lost. No matter who your coach was, You should have supported them, no matter If it was 1 season. How does coach Brown feel when he got no support and hung in there for a long time and now Support is comming out the ***. IT'S A MIRACLE!
Coach McCoy, solid coach, no doubt. FOR ALL YOU COMMING OUT OF THE CLOSET SUPPORTERS WHO HAVE JUMPED ON THE BOAT NOW CAUSE YOU GOT A PROVEN WINNER AS A COACH, I ASK YOU , WHERE WAS YOUR SUPPORT BEFORE?
TWO-FACED, Best word too describe you. You support a reputation not Maggoffin county football. Go back and read, We support now, They support now, The support is here now. Where was it before? Where will it be in 2 or 3 years when you don't accomplish the so-called tv series miracle? I'll tell you, The same place It was when Brown was there. NO-WHERE. What a crock. The only supporters will be the jock-straps in about 3 years. You support nothing.

I think you are somewhat misunderstanding what the posters are meaning by support. The support they are talking about is from the high school principal. Everyone knows the principal before couldn't care less about anything. This principal does, and because of that has coordinated with the board of education and put unlimited resources in place for a long term plan for football success. If Dayne Brown (who is one of the best coaches around) had the same opportunity he would have already been overwhelmingly successful. It is not an issue of bandwagon, it is an issue of timing. It just so happens that Coach McCoy was hired by the new progressive principal. Coach Brown was coaching when the old principal was there.
Also, no one is saying Magoffin County is going to be 10-0 this year, next year, or the year after. They are going to fight hard to win every game, but we know that reality says they could very well be 0-10. No one is expecting him to do anything miraculous but we know that he will put a team on the field that will be disciplined and respectful (and i mean respectful in the terms of yes sir, no sir, well behaved young men). From all indications, he is doing a great job. His team is extremely young and his underclass numbers are pretty high. I think they have around 36-38 kids out right now. Good luck Coach McCoy and the Hornets.

You support nothing.now let me tell you something i dont know you and you dont know me so how do you know if i am jumping on the bandwagon or not,as far as supporting this team I would say I have been to more football and basketball games since I got out of college than just about anyone I am sure there are a few who has been to more.I have supported this team more than you will ever know and trust me its hard to support them when the Principal will not give the coach half of what he needs( why do you think Dayne Brown left, cause he absolultley had no support from the Administration ) and then goes and hires his neighbor with absolutley no football experience as a coach on the high school level dont get me wrong I like the previous coach as a person but he is no football coach.Have you ever just sit back and thought of how embarrassing that was to let the rest of the area know what was going on,and for the history 101 comment I majored in history just when you make a statement like that explain what you meant, and the"tv series miracle"comment that makes no sense either.
