I feel like number #41 for Adams was an outstanding running back and should be considered here. He hit the hole like a ball of fire and had no quit. I was impressed with him.

Please, sure he is ok but way to small JC just slung him around like a rag doll..But if he was a little bigger he would b very good..But he still is a good back but not 1 of the best..

Dropper, you obviously have some serious issues with lawrence county in general? Too much sarcasm takes away from the fun of this site!!
You must have been at someone else's game last Tuesday cause it sounds like your'e the only one who thought it a boring game.
Hunter James is a better back and player at 50% than alot of kids are at 110%-maybe you should take a football class and learn about it so it won't be boring?? If those players can leave it all on the field like they did that night, they sure don't deserve to be put down and called boring.
Maybe you should try going to games in other sports??

I agree  Josh and Nathon are great backs! And its took some good blocking and an entire team to work together to make this season a great success! They all played some fine defense and offense this year! One kid can't win a game and thankfully our boys know this!

WAY TO GO BELFRY MIDDLE :1: and since this is a thread about backs....
WAY TO GO JOSH #2 AND NATHON #21
Keep it up boys BHS is your next stop

Tanner Bratton #36 and Brett Reynolds from P'ville played well this year in my mind Tanner Bratton has the potential to play Varsity next year if he would hit the weight room hard and get in shape early....Reynolds had a great year tooodont think he played in the backfield i believe he played QB or sumtin like that but both really good players

JJ JUDE FROM JCMS IS THE BEST I HAVE SEEN. HE HAD 7 TD IN THEIR FIRST GAME, THE FIRST ONE WAS A KICK RETURN THE FRIST PLAY OF THE GAME. Against Paintsville he got hurt at the start of the game and set out until the 4th period and still had a few TD with is knee the size of a football. Good back, with good knowledge of the game and very strong.

Randy Davidson of Estill Co and Dre Goggings of Clark Moore (Madison Co.) are two of the best I have seen in middle school this year. Davidson is hard nosed and a fast kid, Goggins has excellent speed and quickness for the m.s. level.

Trent Burchette and Seth Jarrell

Seth no more. Their Coach pretty much limits him now by placing him at QB this week. That also weakens PJMS's backfield because now you only have 1 true back in it in Trent Burchette. They have played 4 different QBs and 12 different kids at RB, this season alone. They have no clue where they are going to be from week to week. PJMS is better than what they appear. They have the talent. They just can't get any repeativness to allow them to learn and jell as a team. A lot of kids quit and didn't even come out due to this problem this year. They could have at least 35 or more players this year, instead of the way it is now. Keep your heads up boys and keep playing your hearts out. We're still proud of you.

After watching the Big Sandy Post Grid,IMO, #10(Skyles) for Martin Co. and #21(Jude) for Johnson Central are the best. Both with speed (4.9 in the 40) both with power(230 in bench press and 315 squat).Outstanding for two 8th graders. What a treat it would be to see them both in the same backfield.

I make a prediction that the 6th grade next year at Russell will have the most talented backfiled a team could ask for.
Connor- Zip- Messer
Bronson- Brawny- Korzep
Garion- G-Man- Robinson
Bobby- Say-Hey- May

These kids can all play interchangeable positions and will absolutely make a game of who can block the most people so the other can score. The last game these boys played on the same team was at Morgan Co and they each ran the ball 1 time for 70 yards each and scored on that 1 carry. Russell downed Morgan 42-0. This same team has not lost in 4 years as a team. I know that they will only be 6th graders next year but I hope that their sucess continues.

I do know that Zip Messer has 6,327 yards and 89 touchdowns so far in JFL. He is 5'2" and around 90 pounds, hits like a brick, ----Korzep is 5' and 100 pounds, meaner than junk yard dog. G-Man Robinson can throw a football 45 yards right now.!!! and can also run hard. he is 5' and 95 pounds.... Our full back is Bobby May- 4'10" and 108 pounds... Loves to hit a line and make a hole..... These kids are great athletes in the all round. They played together at the State 9-10 baseball tourney this past year and did well, going undefeated in the regionals and beating out Lexington in the first round of the state tourney. The line they will run behind will average 170 pounds. And yes they play baseball too--State players and pitchers................... Sound to good to be true?????????
Come watch them play next year.... I think you will be amazed at these athletes.
This whole team is loaded at evedry position.. This will be a team that will hear of from here on out......... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If...Then
11-04-2007, 11:58 AM

I have to agree Jude was a great back. He has tons of upside. The kid from Martin ran the ball hard and was surrounded by better pieces but Jude was more the total package. Fields from WMS was a bear but I think he will be playing with is hand on the ground next year.

Well, if we are looking at by grade level, Madison Middle School's 7th grade backfield is very talented. #35 FB is a strong, big runner in the middle. #23 is a great compliment to the "feature back". #5 Hawkins, is the gamebreaker. Granted, I haven't seen many folks from the area on here, except for Powell county, but I'll let them post their opinions. The QB #11 is also a great decision maker and lets his backs set stuff up for the passing game. I'm sure anyone from Powell and Estill would agree. They should be a force as 8th graders.
