Alot of college teams play for a traveling trophy.
EX-UK vs UofL the governors cup, Miami vs. U of F the Semionle war canoe, Iowa and Iowa State playing for the Cy-Hawk Trophy.

So if you could have you teams play for a traveling trophy who would play and what would it be called.


My picks-
Shelby Valley and Pike Central- The Golden Tomahawk which also brings in the rivarly with ER for both teams.
Belfry and P-burg-The Haywood Trophy

Here's my question, how many rivalry games across the state of KY actually have a traveling trophy?

Russell and Ashland (Freshman Game) have the Kwanis Bowl Trophy. There are Offensive and Defensive players of the game for both teams, as well. I've heard that it's the longest continuous running bowl game in the state.

It was originally used as a trophy for the winner between both of Ashland's middle school teams, Coles and Putnam, but when they were consolidated into one building, they changed the matchup to a freshman football game between Ashland and Russell. The game is always held at Ashland, next to the new middle school that Coles and Putnam were consolidated into to honor them.

Pikeville and belfry should play for one I think. It is always a hard fought game against Pike counties best. I'm still working on a name for the trophy though.

Russell and Greenup has the Backyard Brawl trophy. Which Russell has kept since it's inception about 4 years ago.

Highlands and Cov.Cath, "The battle for the Buckeye" trophy LOL
Harlan and Lynn camp play for the traveling 'Banjo.

Union College and University of the Cumberlands have the Brass Lantern Trophy.

Belfry/Russell...The State Championship Bowl. It seems that is has been that way for the last 4 years.:)

Somerset and Pikeville should imo play every year cuz its just a great game to be a part of... i'm not sure of what a trophy could be called if there even should be on but I think that they should play every year eitehr in the playoffs or as a non-district game... possibly in the Pike County Bowl!!!!!
