Sounds like a basketball score!! I knew it would be close but thought that Breathitt would pull it out.

Breathitt jumped out 14 -0 in the first 2 minutes, 35-28 Breathitt at the half.
Total offensive showcase. No defense at all. Ok here's the kicker, Middlesboro retakes the lead in the 4th 50-42, Neither team has stopped the other all night. 2:20 seconds left in the game, 4th and 8 for Breathitt. It's DO OR DIE, They punt the ball. Can someone explain to me why you punt the ball back to Middlesboro when you havn't stopped them all night and they havn't stopped Breathitt all night. Your down 8 points with a lil' over 2 minutes to go in the game, You know your D cant stop them, They've already scored 50, You got 1 big play left for the ball game, So you PUNT???????????
So Breathitt punted on 4th and 8 with 2:20 in the game and guess what, Middlesboro takes it all the way to the 12 yard line and scores again.

Middlesboro's defense is bad....Breathitt's defense is bad.....but the game was a fun one to watch and except for a couple questionable calls on both sides, it was a well called game IMO.

Wow I had no idea that game would be such a high scoring game. Sounds like it was pretty freakin good though, other than the defensive show.

To answer the poster questioning the playcalling with a couple minutes to go, I completely agree because Breathitt has made many plays easily of over 8 yards and I think they should have at leat tried. Coach Holcomb tends to play conservative when the pressure is on, and that has cost Breathitt on more than one occasion, especially in the pasy againt Middlesboro.

Anyone who was at the game will tell you, Breathitt punted on 4th and 8 with a lil' over 2 minutes left in the game to a Middlesboro offense who had already scored 50 points. Breathitt didn't even try to convert when Middlesboro hadn't stopped them all night in a DO OR DIE situation. Why in the **** would you punt in a situation like that?
They knew they couldnt hold Middlesboro defensively, They had converted on Middlesboro all night long, Down 8 points 2:20 left in the game, 4th and 8, Gotta have a big play to stay alive, Gotta have a 1st down or it's the game .............
SO BREATHITT PUNTS????????????? Worste play call I have ever seen. Breathitt literally was down 8 points, There's still barely over 2 minutes left, Didn't even try, Punted, Gave up. Just mabey they could have got the 1st down, Never know now.

Sounds like Breathitt just gave away their last chance! Under the conditions you describe, it doesn't make much sense?????

Breathitt had 2:20, They could have with their offense drove down and possibly scored. Handed it back to Middlesboro on a silver platter. Breathitt could have won that game, Congrats to Middlesboro, Great team, Great season, But you need to thank coach Holcomb for punting the ball back to you with lil' over 2 minutes to go and letting you seal the fate of the Bobcats. Down 8 points , 2:20 left in the game, 4th down, **** WITH IT, LET'S PUNT................TRULY UNBELIEVABLE

2A District 7 has NO DEFENSE ! Thats what the difference in District 8 and 7 are ! 8 has the O and the D ! 7 has NO D but has a O ! But congrats Yellow Jackets ! Congrats to the Bobcats also ! Would have loved to have been there to see it !

NO WAY..... It's gotta be determined before in order to seed.The seed is earned, but the official district title game is in the 2nd round I believe.

All the Breathitt people were dishearted cause the #1 seed had the homefield the first 2 rounds and it looked like they'd be the 2 seed now and lookin at a rematch with the 3 seed Leslie. The district champion is an automatic #1 seed. Your right though, Neither team's Defense is even average. Defense wins championships, So I can't pick Middlesboro to beat a Belfry or a Russell, No way, They have no defense at all. Their offense is as good as any, But if a team slows it down on them and plays good D, Their done.

under the new playoff format the first two rounds will be played in your own district..

The district champ will be decided in the playoffs. The team who wins the first two games will be district champs. That's the way the new format is set up. The regular season is for seeding in the postseason and the champ is decided in the playoffs.

Congrats Middlesboro......the Jackets are a good team, and Breathitt is better than I thought. The Middlesboro defense is awful though, and Breahtitt is not deciplined on defense because they missed a bunch of tackels. Middlesboro was not even close to Breathitt's players when they scored. Breathitt had 3 or more passes that were either dropped or the reciever just did not turn his head around that would have led to huge gains in the 2nd half. I look forward to the game in Middlesboro in a few weeks, but the Bobcats better not look past Leslie. I was glad to see the Bobcats open up the offense, and they looked good.....could have scored 70 if they had descent recievers IMO.

Earls was unstoppable for Middlesboro. Middlesboro couldn't stop anybody from Breathitt the whole game. All Middlesboro had to do was give the ball to Earls.
For a fact Breathitt dropped one in the end zone wide open. No earthly reason Breathitt should have punted when they were down 8 points with 2 min. left in the game. Earls was unstoppable for Middlesboro. Middlesboro couldn't stop anybody from Breathitt the whole game. All Middlesboro had to do was give the ball to Earls.
For a fact Breathitt dropped one in the end zone wide open. No earthly reason Breathitt should have punted when they were down 8 points with 2 min. left in the game. They had converted all night on 3rd downs and when the games on the line, Down 8, 4th down, Know you cant stop Middlesboro, 2:20 left in the game, Breathitt punts and Middlesboro scores again. The absolute worste call ever! No guts, Didn't even try, No more talk about Holcomb being coach of the year.Holcomb is a great coach, but he does get ultra-conservative in pressure situations.

No guts, Didn't even try, No more talk about Holcomb being coach of the year.Earls was very good in this game, but it was the speed-option play that was unstoppable more than anything because Breathitt stopped him when he tried to run all other kinds of plays, but why try to run other plays if a team cannot stop the speed-option? I still think Coach Holcomb has done more with less than most coaches in the state this year.
