Congrats to the Hornets on a deserving win. The Hornets have rolled up 3 wins this year and this is definately a faster turn around than I would have expected. Give Coach McCoy a couple more years and the things that he needs to be successful, you will see the Hornets in the playoffs. Keep it up Hornets.:thumpsup:

from reading the other thread it llooksto me like no one had no faith in Magoffin and for that they were alot of bets lost

Big setback for the ER program IMO. I really thought they were moving forward. It was a close game. What gave MC the edge?

Setback? Why? Because its Magoffin Co.? That's a very insulting comment IMO! True, MC has been down and they have not had alot of winning seasons, but at least give them some credit, I think they deserve it! If MC would have lost the game, would that be a set back for theit program? I mean come on man, its East Ridge! Now does that statement sound very harsh, absolutely! SO why say something about one school and not the other? Both schools are not as skilled as other schools TRUE, but this was one of those HS games that really kept you interested. Both teams are even IMO and they both wanted this game bad. It was Sr. night and MC wanted to send their Sr's out at home with a win, I think that, along with some great coaching by McCoy gave MC the edge, ie...the fake QB keeper by Antoine Gibson of MC that totally fooled ER, they had no idea that the fullback for MC Jordon Howard had the ball and the big man rumbled for the 34yd td. ER had their chance to win it, but a big def. play by MC on the 2pt conv. sealed the deal, and ER still had a shot with :18 left to play. Now why would you down the ball on 1st down? You wasted a play and took time off the clock, crazy. Congrats to MC and Coach McCoy on the win and good luck next week at Sheldon Clark.

I don't think it was an insult to MC. Hats off to Magoffin County, but yes this is bad for East Ridge. East Ridge was supposed to win and they didn't.

Magoffin County has played East Ridge 4 times in school history......

Magoffin County has won 3 of those games. So much for what "usually" happens.

Supposed to win? How can that be said? Both teams were 2-6 (0-4) coming into the game. MC defeated Allen Central and Betsy Layne (combined record of 4-14). Lost to South Floyd, Knott Co. Central, Belfry, Prestonsburg, Pike Co. Central and Shelby Valley. ER defeated South Floyd and Phelps (a combined record of 5-14) They lost to Belfry, Sheldon Clark, Tolsia W.Va, Gilbert W.Va, Shelby Valley, Pike Co. Central and MC. So both teams pretty much played the same teams and lost and really beat who they were suppossed to, so how can ER have any advantage coming into the game? And like a post earlier, MC has a history of defeating ER, Plain and Simple. My question is who is the so called expert that predicts if one team should beat another team? If one team has a proven record of dominating teams this year and years past, I'd say sure they should win, but the bottom line is that this was NOT the case, so who is the expert? Apparently they didn't send the fax or memo to MCHS that the Hornets were suppossed to lose. Must got mixed up in the mail or something!!! Congrats to MC for a job WELL DONE!! Your deserved the win, you played with heart and never lost your focus, Good luck Friday night at SCHS!!!!!! GOOOOOOO HORNETSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
