Preseason Scrimmage: Lincoln 70 June Buchanan 67

Lincoln County defeated June Buchanan 70-67 at the KBA Preseason Hoopfest at Rupp. Lincoln is still without 2 starters in Calhoun and Miller, 2 kids that really bring some athleticism. Stepp and Cox both looked good for JBS, however at times I thought everyone else just watched them play. Lincoln played man throughout, even with Stepp and Cox taking it 1 on 1 most of the night. Sophomore Ethan Spurlin stepped up huge for Lincoln hitting some crucial 3's down the stretch. The Lincoln team is shaping up to be a team of guards and small forwards who could all put up 20+ on any night, heres hoping that their style of play does not slow down.

Miller is a very nice player, and with him and Calhoun back, it wouldn't have been even worse, however, I heard Lincoln did get ALOT of calls for some reason. How did the Keaton kid play? Also, Spurlin is fundamentally sound, good luck to both teams this year.

How did the scoring look for JBS? Cox had 26, Stepp had 21, Short had 6, Collins had 8 and Hall had 6. They played 24 minute halves. Clinton Stepp, usually a good three point shooter didn't score.
