P-burg 5th? They beat East Ridge to death, they beat Pike Central and have only lost 4 games in the region and only 2 of the teams you have ranked ahead of them beat em ( Valley by like 7 and Central by around 3 or 4). But it's your opinion.

I dont think anybody is jealous of their basketball team after they lost to Johnson Central, Prestonsburg, and Pike Central all down the stretch....I don't know what is wrong with people's rankings...>Because Belfry has been proved overrated down the stetch and that is very obvious...

#1-how can you put johnson central ahead of er. er went to jc and beat them at their place.
#2-sf beat p-burg and everyone has sf ranked 8th. so does that mean that sf moves to 7 and p-burg moves to 8th.

my rankings are as follows.

1.shelby valley
2.pike central
3.east ridge
4.johnson central
5.south floyd
6.prestonsburg
7.belfry
8.paintsville

1. Shelby Valley (until beaten)
2. South Floyd (won about 10 of last 12)
3. Pike Central (no one taught they would win so must be better then I think)
4. Johnson Central (won the 57th and are playing better0
5. East Ridge (AB if hes off they do not win)
6. Pburg (good team but not great have to make ft's to win the region)
7. Belfry (athletic/dangerous but did lose to pbrug and pcc last week)
8. Paintsville (Freshmen/nerves)

8. South Floyd

Prestonsburg will be hard to beat in the regional because of their defense. That is what happens when they play teams like Valley in the regionals and the pressure gets to them. I would like to be the team that draws South Floyd in the opening round and get that easy game to start out with.

1.)Valley (only loss to sheldon clark)
2.)P-burg (beat ER badly at P-Burg, played Valley close)
3.)Belfry (beat ER at ER struggled down the stretch but a solod team)
4.)East Ridge (beat JC at JC, SF at SF and PC)
5.)Pike Central (will be tough now that Lowe is back)
6.)Johnson Central (Strong team if McCartty it on his game)
7.)South Floyd (won the all a, big team could cause some problems)
8.)Paintsville (the youth scares me the pressure may get to them)

Rankings are thrown out the door when you play the game the best rankings of the teams will come after the tournament is played.

just to b honest with you i dont realy c any team being better than any 1 as of now. Valley is #1 as of now until beaten tonight or out of the regional tourny. From there on back all i can say is EVERY team is jockeing for position. IT'S WIDE OPEN. This is as wide open as it has ever been.

I'd like to know why some people think that whoever draws SF will get an easy win? But I guess thats they're opinion, just like BL and P-burg had the same opinion. They have a lot to show for they're opinion on it now though.

GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!

Is South Floyd even in the top 8? I figured since they were supposed to get written off before the BL game even started I don't think I would even include them in the rankings at all.

un-der-es-ti-mate 1: to estimate as being less than the actual size, quantity, or number. 2: to place too low a value on : underrate (underestimate an opponent)

South Floyd has been underestimated all year long. I hope they use this as motivation as they enter the tournament as 58th District Champs!!

IMO, there is no best team in the 15th. It's whoever puts 3 solid games together and plays the best basketball. Any team is capable of winning the region.

Guess what "wildman", Paintsville has beat Johnson Central TWICE, and they beat ER too. Pburg and Pike Central were the only teams in the region that beat a healthy Paintsville team until lastnight when JC finally beat them. Paintsville would have definately beat SF and BL if they would've had all their players, not much I can say about the Valley game, they still wouldn't have beat em' with everyone on that night. As for SF beating Pburg, a very bad unusual night at the charity stripe for Pburg or they win the game, but that's basketball, Pburg is still the #2 team in the region.

bill_don The tigers had all their players except Bundy when the lost to south floyd and he had not been playing for a while before that. Also do notthink regional refs from another region will protect landon and let him shot 32 fts like last game. But I have changed my ratings I think SF is 10th going into the 8 team regional.

Your the only person in this thread with a little common sense. South Floyd deserves to be ranked 2nd. What has Paintsville did? South Floyd beat Pburg and SF didn't even play good. Honestly,SF has got something too prove in this tourney.

2. PC (coming on strong as of late and its tourney time)
3. Pburg (couldnt hit the fts to hold SF off but they are still one of the best)
4. JC (if they keep it up they could be in the finals)
5. Belfry (good team but not as of late)
6. SF (if it gets in a half court game they win the region if its a running game they are beat)
7. ER ( overrated)
8. Paintsville ( too young and not all that good IMO)

If you're going by which teams have beat each other..thtn.... Pburg has beat Pike Cenral and East Ridge and you have them below those teams.. Paintsville beat Johnson Central twice..and I'm sure the list could go on

I believe this is the most balanced region in a long time. All four Districts are fairly close with the scores they had in the finals. It is not December or early January and other than South Floyd , and they possibly could do good if their Coach would get mean with them and try to get them under control. every team is close. I still think Prestonsburg plays the defense that could win it. This may be one time it hasno advantage in playing a runner-up.

After watching a few games, it seems to me that teams from the 58th play a more physical game, while teams from the 59th play a more running game. It will be a interesting matchup, power against speed when the teams play against each other. If the boys from the 58th can keep up with the running game of the 59th, could the boys from the 59th handle the physical and beating they will take under the goal to be able to pull it out. I think either way, it is going to be a fun tourney to watch no matter who comes out on top. I expect all the fans to be at there peak to cheer there teams on. I am just glad the regionals are played at a gym with parking so you dont have to walk a mile to get to the gym.

t-balls, how can u say that SF cant be stopped inside?? PBurg held little to 5 points, he probably hasnt been held to 5 points since he was a freshman, and pburg had stephens wth 15 and chaffin with 12. Pburg's bigmen r the best in the region, better than SF's.

32 fts, get real littlej. I believe the day after the SF game was when they found out JD VanHoose had mono (which kept him in the house for 2 weeks and missed 4-5 games.), and if I'm not mistaking I said SF beat an UNHEALTHY Tiger team, do you think having mono is healthy. And what are you talking about "refs from another region?" Do you have the schedule of who is reffing each game, cause if I'm not mistaking our own 15th Region refs reffed the 15th Region Tourney. It's not my fault everyone on SF's team tried to be heroes trying to block Landon everyone he drove to the basket and commited a foul, what are you talking "protect Landon"   .

Thats a joke..In the 2 previous meetings SF's big men killed Pburg...This game they did control it...Stephens is a great post player and Chaffins is too..They are they best 4 big men in this region.I think that all 4 are them are great....That's what makes the match up between them so much better..But when they play other teams, noone can stop them......Chaffins only had 3 by the way..

What??????????????????????? Pburg's bigmen r definatly not the best in the 15th, SF has a much better inside game, better outside game too if u ask me. Pburg may have the strongest team tho.
