My favorite deer rifle is a 7mm and my favorite gun to shoot is my little marlin lever action 22 that is 43 years old and is like new

For around here and a brush gun you can't beat a 30-30. But about 5 years ago I got a 243, and I like it pretty well. But this year, I hunted with my 300 WIN Mag. Didn't need the power, but it sure is fun. lol

Depends on what you are using it for but....

For deer I have owned everything from a .223 to a 7mm Mag. My favorite was the .270 for flat shooting at a distance. Basically an .06 case necked down to take a .27 caliber round.

For long distance varmit shooting there is nothing better than a .220 swift. Just have to be careful of shooting the throat out of the gun. Way to much powder for a .22 caliber bullet.

For Deer long distance i like the 22-250 and 30-06 but my fovorite would have to 270
