The way this tournament is going....I'm not even gonna attempt to pick a winner.
But I do believe that the biggest factor in the outcome of the game is how Valley reacts to the physical play that I'm sure
the Black Cats will bring.

Hopefully Prestonsburg will loosen up a little, I think that has been a lot of there problems. I say P-burg in a close one.

Yeah I agree Blackcat, this tournament has been the greatest show on earth so far, I'm hoping Blackcats all the way, but I am scared to predict anything in this WIDE-OPEN 15th Region Tournament.

I really don't want to pick a winner. All I can say is if P-burg comes out like they have their past 3 games then it will be all over for P-burg early. If P-burg plays like they did on their 9 game winning streak at the end of the regular season, then upset city could happen again this year. I can't say either way because I do not know what Prestonsburg team will show up. I think they are due for a good game, but will it happen is the question. Good luck to them though and I hope they win.

Umm I guess ill jump on the bandwagon of not PICKING a winner....Like BCF4L said IF Pburg brings the john mark and jesse chaffin game "the inside game" then we could be looking at an upset...But it we bring the play good first half Lay down seecond half say goodbye to all of prestonsburgs seniors.....And Pburg has to hit their free throws and play tough D......I was amazed with pburg tonight from the Free Throw line...Does anyone have any stats telling how many was made and missed and how many fouls and turnovers each team had......

Ugh. This is going to be a tough game. I'll take Valley in the final minute. I just hope they show up and play some defense.

Just don't see Valley beating Pburg. After last night both of these teams are WORN OUT, Valley worse (should be anyways). Pburg has much better post play and rebounding then Pville, although Pburg doesn't have anyone that is gonna put up 51 points, you can bet that they will be clicking on all cylinders and everyone will be on top of their game, just don't think Valley will have an answer for the Blackcats. Pat Tackett is gonna have a rough time with the wound he recieved lastnight, he won't be much of a factor if he is coming in and out of the game cause of bleeding.
Pburg - 79
Valley - 72

Bleechercreature#1-I do agree with you- I hope that p-burg is not cheated as poorly as SV was last year in the Regional Tournament at P-burg. That what absolutely pathetic and i really dont believe this tourney will turn out that way-b/c its really hard for a ball team to play seven people. As for this year, i think so far this tourney has been called fairly and will be throughout* Good Luck Cats

It'll be hard to pick a winner for this game. I just hope Pburg comes out like they at the end of the regular season with the 9 game winning streak (or however many it was) and hits they're FT's. NOT like they've been playing in the post-season.
But either way, I'm still pulling for my BLACKCATS! Good luck on Friday Boys!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHA. OMG, man, I haven't laughed that hard in a LONG time, thanks man I needed that.
What about lastnight when Grimm shot the ball from halfcourt and was fouled and the refs called the foul on the floor  , it was clearly a shooting foul and Grimm should have gotten 3 shots, instead he had to shoot the bonus (alot of pressure on a Freshman cause if he woulda missed the 1st it woulda been over), he made the first and missed the second. I'm not saying he would have made the 3rd shot but he should got the chance at a 3rd, and you can argue that play all you want but it was visible to the whole crowd and was VERY visible on WYMT's hi-lites lastnight.
That game is over, you got bigger things to worry about now, a much quicker and stronger Pburg team, 3 boys (Micheal Stephens, Trevor Compton, Joe Blackburn) that play some of the best defense I have seen this year, I don't think you will see Bentely shooting many 3's or Riddle driving by them to the basket, or Tackett beating them off the dribble. Then you got Moose and Chaffin who are 2 of the top post players in the region and can rebound with the best of em and score underneath. Pburg has one thing on their mind, REVENGE from the game between these two earlier this year. SV's heads better not be so big like they were lastnight, cause it will all come to an end, QUICKLY.

I mean, I am DEFINITELY not a Paintsville fan at all, although after tonight I am a Landon Slone fan, but this was robbery. And besides that call at the end of OT1, in OT2 Kelsey Friend actually hit Shane Grimm (I believe) in the chest after a foul was called, and didn't recieve a T, heck it wasn't even called a double foul, instead I believe it went down as Grimm's 4th.
That was posted in the SV/Pville thread.
Sounds like the game was called pretty fair to me    .

I haven't seen the game yet (listened on the radio) but the first thing I thought when I heard foul at halfcourt (just before the buzzer) was
3 freethrows.
The only comments that the announcers (Ronnie Paul & Eugene) made was "unbelievable" (over & over) .
When things settled down and I heard them say "the bonus" , I automatically thought that the foul was on the floor (maybe a loose ball).
I will be sure to watch on WPRG tonight at 9:00 P.M. , b4 I make a comment (if any) either way.

As far as Kelsey hitting Grimm in the chest (really doesn't matter , but I was told by my most reliable source, that it was a push) , I think this would mean that "Ol' Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick" is finally gettin' "Ferocious and Aggressive", and according to his play towards the end of the game , he is.
If this is the case , I don't think anyone will come close to Valley the rest of the tournament.
Keep the fire Kelso , don't go back into hibernation.

like i said, if kelsey wants to be the best player in the region, he very well can be
I love watchin this kid play!!!
and i am sure grimm deserved the little ol push lol, kelsey just wouldnt do something like that for no reason!

True.. I dont see Kelsey doing that for no reason at all. He's not that type of player or person.
Unlike last year, Valley players really want it. I hope they can pull off the win.

if im not mistaking Grimm fouled Kelsey and then continued on to walk up to him and say something and i think this is when Kelsey pushed Grimm so i think thats what it boiled down to.

Im going to say Valley in a barn burner!
With Bentley's outside shooting and J. Johnson inside its going to be hard to stop these cats.
Valley has a good solid ball club and is going to come ready to play!
GOOD LUCK CATS!

Im still mad about that call, everyone knows grim should have had the chance to shoot 3 times...i thought the officiating was terrible the first two games.

Bentley had the big head the other night, it was obvious in warm-ups when he wa shooting from practically HALF COURT (wasn't far from it). IDK if he was just shooting from way out there to get his arms warmed up or what, but when you are doing it right infront of the other teams bench and coaches it looks like you are thinking it won't even be a game. Guess he was wrong, lol, Pburg aint gonna be no walkover either, if Valley even wins.

A very physical game for Valley indeed. However, I feel that they should be physically and mentally ready too because this has the potential to be a very good game. I remember earlier in the season when Valley played at Prestonsburg. There were alot of fouls called and over 80 freethrows. I really cannot wait to see this game on Friday night. My prediction: SV-64 PHS-60

I hope the officieting is better this game then it was the first SV/PHS game, Correct me if I am wrong, But if my memory serves me correctly there were 58 or 59 fouls called. If anyone was there they could tell you that was the LONGEST game I have ever been to.
As for the winner of the game tonight, it will be a close one, I pick Burg in a VERY CLOSE one, maybe a OT or 2.
Prestonsburg is a VERY AGGRESSIVE team, and if they can use that to there advantage, they will be the winner of this ballgame.
Prestonsburg has ALOT of fan support as well, and beleve me, when you have 80% of your student population at the games cheering you on, thats is something to play for.

The chant P-burg will be squaling at the end of the game will be "Blackcat Football" and we all know what that means, meanwhile on the other side SV will be wishing them a nice trip back to the Burg. "Drive Home Safely!". SV is riding a 6 game win streak and 9 of their last 10, they are more talented and more experienced... SV by 9.
SV 68
Burg 59

More talented no. More experienced, yes. P-burg was riding a 7 game win streak and 12 of their last 14 before the South Floyd defeat. I see the same happening to SV. As of now P-burg is 14 of their last 17. Both coming into this game with strong statistics to close out the season. It's just going to come down to who wants it more. P-burg is more physical and hustles more. If you recap the SV game against P-burg earlier in the year, Seth Kiser had 24 points and Valley only won by 4. Without Kiser, Valley would have lost by 20 (statistically speaking). I'm hoping this will be the case in this one. Good luck to the blackcats.
