This was a game where it was there for the taking but 11 for 23 from 3 land was too much for this Ky team to overcome.Cats are no fun to watch at all.Cant wait until football season.

Yeah, they did. Bad loss at home but Vandy blew out Alabama earlier in the week. Kentucky is the better team though, and to take anything positive out of this Thomas played really well today. That was about it.
Vandy is hot right now though, now with wins this season of Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Bama, and now Kentucky.

UK looked horrible today. But Vandy was shooting lights out. Shot 50% from the field(24-48) and 11-23 from 3 as said earlier. I agree that UK is the better team, but they just caught Vanderbilt at a wrong time, they are on a hot streak as of late. Congrats to the dores.

Vandy is Hot but the Cats were on a big win streak.
I thought Vandy just hit some big shots and the Cats didn't.
So far Vandy has played rather well against ranked foes, and people need to remember no matter what the Cats are ranked, teams "get up" for them. A win against the Cats is a very motivating prize for any school let alone one that we have dominated for years.

Vanderbilt has two great players in Byars, and Fostar. They both could light it up from behind the arc. Kentucky couldnt do anything to stop them either. Thomas had one of his better games but you don't want him leading the team. Bradley shot well but didn't get many looks. Congrats Commodores.

Yeah, he had an awful run 2003 and 2005 didn't he? Not to mention winning the 98' National Title that Rick couldn't win with the 97' team and even after they lost Prickett, Epps, Derrick Anderson, and Ron Mercer (4 Leading Scorers from the 1997 team)

Yeah, I said that but it's not just Tubby that struggled with Vandy this season. Bruce Pearl also did, and so did several other ranked teams and coaches. No need to put your Tubby bashing spin on it.

Joe Crawford shot 4-17 from the field yesterday and Meeks shot 1-6. (Combining for 5-23)
It's going to be hard to beat anybody when your scoring threats shoot 21%
Wyatt Earp

Vandy has been a tough team to beat for a few years and probably could happen again before the year is out. Tough to win shooting 20 some % at any level.

Yeah, along with the talent of course. It's easy to bash Tubby for winning with a team of Pitino's recruits, but Rick couldn't do it in 97' and the top 4 scorers of the 97' team either graduated or left early. I think he done a pretty good job losing those 4 guys, and finishing what Pitino couldn't.

I didn't say anything about being back since then and neither did you. You tried to laugh me off the boards for saying he done something that Pitino couldn't after losing the 4 top scorers, and now you want to change your tune.
He's been close to being back since then, but a couple of bad breaks in the tournament have prevented that. With the exception of last season and the 2000 season I believe we've been close to getting back to that point. We've had 3 elite eight appearances since then but just haven't gotten the breaks (Bogans injury, Sparks getting fouled)

Arizona was a heck of a team that year, You cant say Arizona wasent good that year. Besides Pitino lost like 8 people from that 96 team and they all went in the first round of the draft and he still made it back to the championship

:) Lost like 8 people? Where did you get that number. He lost 4 from the 96' team. The 3 top scorers, and the #6 leading scorer. Yeah he got back. You say it's amazing he got back.
Yet it's not amazing that Tubby got them back and actually won it after losing the top 4 scorers from the 97 team?
You're a typing contradiction. Tubby lost more scorers and still won, with what Pitino couldn't.

Maybe so, but the other point I got across is that Tubby did get it done in 98'. And the other point I was trying to get across is that it's absurd to judge success by counting final fours in this day and age with so much parity in basketball(George Mason last season)

What year are you talking about? I just told you that the 96' team lost 4 players and of those 3 went in the 1st round. That is good, but UNC did that a couple years ago as well. The 97' team lost their 4 top scorers, and you want to know what? THREE(3) of those also went in the 1st round. Same as Pitino's 96 team. Tubby was in the exact situation in 1998. Got anymore brain busters for me?
