I truly think that Magoffin CO. is still the team, but watch out for JC, SV, Belfry and Paintsville. I would have said PCC, but they are to up and downn never consistent. I know, I know they are talented, but I just don't feel good about them getting thing in order before Regionals. MC has played top level teams and handled thing good so far. They currently are 17-3 and look to be solid as of late. They have alot more tough challenges ahead. Clay Co. (twice) JC, PCC, Belfry and Lawrence Co, plus Sheldon Clark on the road. What does everyone honestly think, (the key word is think) not who you root for, but honestly think will make it. Right now my vote is MCHS!!!

NO disrespect at all to them, but with Ratliff hurt, let them get some games in to prove it to everytone, including me! They are good ( can be great) but need to be consistent down the stretch. Every team does!!!

yes im a pike central fan....lol, but here we go......i am not making any predictions for this one, this could be a toss up, YES magoffin has the best record(really good team) and Valley is good also so is johnson central, pike central,. BUT if you remember i dont think anyone thought the championship game would be between central and Magoffin last year.. The game changes during tournament time! it's a very unpredictable thing!

pc has a long way to go,but I think have the most room for improvement as long as Haley makes it back in time to get back in shape.belfry was very impressive over the weekend and we all know about MC.it could come down to who gets the best draw, and who,s playing the best at that time.

Its between Pike Central and Magoffin Co. Hard to choose between the two.

Belfry Wins
01-22-2007, 01:33 AM
Belfry played Magoffin to 4 points. Magoffin shot the ball well to and Belfry didnt. They are five teams in the top and they all have a good shot as any. Belfry JC MC PCC SV.......I listed them in ABC order lol.

Magoffin is the clear favorite. I haven't been impressed with any of the other teams, especially Shelby Valley. They are way overrated.

Magoffin County if they all stay healthy.

I don't know what season you've been watching to say you can't choose between the two. Sure, PC won earlier in the year, but they're a completely different team right now.

IMHO, I have no clue. To many teams able to beat the other on any given night. Gonna be some hearts broken during the Region though.

I think it will come down to MC and JC again this year....JC has really stepped it up since the beginning of the season....However MC is very tough and i think will pull it off...but as someone said on any given night i think any team in the 15th has the chance to win based on how determined they play and their mentality.....If the post was right SV only beat LC by 6 points....i know 6 points is enough to call it a win, but to be rated so high and only beat a team who never gets deserving recognition and has a new head coach is not saying a whole lot.

Magoffin County is the team i still think will be the one to beat. But when tournament times comes theres always changes and the most upsets are during tournaments. So every body should be ready because you will never know whos going to win. I cant wait till the region. But my vote still goes to the Lady Hornets

I will chose MC but I agree w/Stinger JC is continuing to step it up and even though both top teams of the 57th will compete in regional, it will be a tough fight to get to the top. Don't mean to take anything away from PC, Belfry, or SV but the hardest match I think will be the district. I am still choosing the Lady Hornets!

Listen, people. You have to admit: anything can happen in this region. Fact is, we have some super talented teams. Magoffin is clearly the best right now and the most obvious choice. But there are several weeks left and you don't know what is gonna happen. Everybody has an off night. Valley, Pike Central, Belfry - any of these could represent the 15th. But everybody has a right to believe in their own team.Which is why I think my Valley girls will shock and awe the Expo Center in March. Go Blue!

I would have to say Magoffin Co, then Shelby Valley and then Belfry

The only reason why I dont have Pike Central on there is because the injury of Ratliff

Magoffin Co. is the favorite IMO, but if Haley Ratliff returns 100% and has got her eyes set on going to state one more time, then I think PC could be the team to beat. The main key to PC's success imo would be whether this team can get their chemistry together by regionals, cause Haley didn't get to play many games with this team since AD Slone has been allowed to play.

I know alot of the regions teams are really good teams! but my opinion is is Magoffin, Valley, or Pc if ratliff is backed by tournament time! But I wish all teams the best of luck! and i also think that Magoffin is the best team so far but anything can happen!

and SV isn't overratd! they have improved so much since two years ago! i know they have thier bad games and i know they aren't the best team in the world but they are still a great team and have a shot to go far! and if they play like they are capable of they could have a good game with magoffin!

just to let you all know ratliff will be back on Feb.5 for PC's game at phelps for sure

Belfry Wins

Pc has done played at Phelps, could it be when they host Phelps. Alot of teams are overlooking Belfry also. I dunno but I have been really impressed with Belfry. They won the JC tournament, with a win over Russell, beat Mason County, and Tolsia WV, whos is very good and beat them at Tolsia, they gave Magoffin all they wanted and took Rose Hill to OT, and blew a big lead, and had 3 players I think foul out. Not a bad resume for January.

It wasn't no big deal, I just wanted to make sure I was correct. Im excited to see Frdiay game between Belfry and PC. Even though Ratliff is out it jsut gives someone more opportunity to step up. Hayley wasn't girl that scared me vs Belfry anyways it was Kayla Lowe, she is a force and IMO one of the best in the region.

Also, the four games they have lost are by a total of 11 points, against some very tough competition.

Well up to this point of the season, Magoffin is still the team to beat. with that said any team can make their respective trail to the regional finals by winning conference games that allows an easier road to the "Expo"

Once the final eight is determined, a good draw will help any of the four schools who I think will be in the "final four" regionally.
1. Magoffin 2. Belfry 3. Shelby Valley 4.Pike Central if Ratliff returns
