Had this in an email and thought I would share it with my BGR family because to me..IT MADE A **** GOOD POINT!! If us employed people have to take a drug test to earn our paycheck, then why don't people who sit on there lazy tail take a drug test every 2 weeks to get theres? Talk about solving the drug problem and saving a ****load of money from the government..Just wanted to share this with you all and wanted to hear what you all think about this idea?

Well why not pay for the test with the money that was going to the check recipient that fails. Drug test could be done at local health departments.

You could solve a couple of our nations problems in about 2 years. We would cut off those that dont deserve a check, then put 50% of their welfare check torward balancing the budget and improving our schools.

All males between the age of 18 and 45 that fail should be shipped straight to basic training, 9 weeks to dry out followed by a govt. paid vacation and opportunity to see the world, first stop Afganastan, followed up by a 18 months in Iraq. Allowing our men who are there a opportunity to come home.

Mother's who fail would no longer receive a check but card with strict limitations on what could and could not be purchased, staple items only.
If child is school age mothers would have to perform 25 hours community service per week while child is in school. These service hours would have to be done either for the county, school districts, or town/city govt.

Women who have no children shipped to bootcamp 9 weeks of training followed up with a free trip to a non combat area and act as support to those troops who are in the field.

After they have pulled a three year stint they have an option to re-up at the scale of pay of a buck private.

I would go for it. I mean my taxes are paying for people that fake injuries so what is there to lose.

Yes that is a great idea.If their going to test us miners 20 times a year why not these people.I do feel for the 50 year old coalminer who has worked on his knees 3000ft underground for 30 years and needs a vicodin just to work.

And I thought of that problem also, but I guarantee you that the government would MUCH RATHER pay a couple of bucks for a drug test than to pay some crazy odd amount of money to these druggies or people faking an injury. They would save billions in the long run in NO TIME!

i got this same email, and i think its the greatest idea of all time. Why not just take the money it costs to take a drug test out of the check they are getting? Like Doc said, and by the way, that was a GREAT post, but its the truth. I for one, am getting tired of working and busting my hump to feed somebody else's drug habit. And im sure everybody else is too..you fail the drug test then you get to join the military. This country is free, but IMO, too free.

What about the people who wouldn't come and take one... or who doesn't drive? You couldn't put them all in jail... that would be another big cost... I think it would be a great idea... but it would be a big job

Well we could hire some of the honest ones that pass the test to go to sattelite offices through out the county for those that cant drive. Not office would need to be in the county seat. As far as travel if it would mean that they would be cut off I think they would find a way to the test site.

Wait on second hand just have the test on the 3rd of the month at your local wal mart, everyone seems to be able to make it there even if they cant drive.

This is a great thread...... yeah, some people do deserve it, but why give free-handouts to people who will just use it for drugs? Why should my dad, who grew up in poverty where saying he had nothing would be giving him more wealth than they had, have to use his hard earned dollars to support someone's drug habbit? He was given nothing and came up, why should they be given something to stay down?

I think drug testing suck for anyone! What I do at home is for me to know only. If I do it at or prior to work, fire me! If we only had a private life in this free country! For the record I do get tested and don't do drugs.

Im tested and I use to think it was an invaision of my private life, however if you drive, work with kids, operate heavy equipment, really do anything that could endanger someone else, I have no problem with it.

I relate govt. assistance to being that persons job, if their employer wants them tested I have no problem with it.

I just feel as if weed is no different than alcohol. It should be ok as long as you are not high on the job. We all know that you cannot be drunk on the job as well.

I do agree that a lot of people are on the draw and should not be. Testing would save money in the long run. I work everyday and disagree with being told what I can do at home after work!

And I agree belfryJustice, but you and I both know that 9 out of 10 times it carried over to work! And that is when it is a problem!

BJ I agree with what you say about what you or any adult does at home is their own business, my problem is with how much govt. money is spent on illegal drugs?

One could only guess as to how much money is spent in Floyd, Pike, Knott, Perry and Letcher co's.

I have a problem when OUR tax dollars are spent to support a family that needs food, diapers and formula and instead goes up the hollow to pay for oxycotin, xanax, and hydrocodone to someone who has never worked, drives a new car, rides a harley, cruises on his 4 wheeler to water his plants, and has a cabin at Cave Run.

except for the drug part thats a pretty nice life, My grand mother who is on some sort of pain medication for her back has to go once a month to get a drug test just so she doesn't have to feel pain. And then someone has the nerve to call the doctor who has treated my grand mother for years says she is selling them I'm still kidna shocked about this one. Even though she was never late to her drug tests they take her off her medicine and when you see someone who is so used to taking it (around 5 years) go off it suddenly makes you kinda wonder how people can be so cruel as to deny a old woman of just walking to the kitchen to get her some OJ.

You do not know how much I agree with this statement. There is a couple in my wifes family that have 4-5 kids. I am not for sure. They are in the system and have been as long as I have known them. They are probably in their late 20's early 30's. Their second child is mentally handicapped. They can't handle him yet they have had 2-3 more children. Yet I have 3 kids. My wife and myself both work to support our family and we can't even get financial aid for our sons college because we make to much money. The aggravating thing about that is that if this couples kids decide to go they will probably get a free ride. On my tax dollars that could actually go towards one of my kids.
