They wont be as good as everyone thinks. Theyve lost way too much over the last two years, theyll make playoffs, but theyll prolly be second to pikeville. I HOPE they beat pikeville cuz i hate pikeville but, i dont see it happenin.

Losing Pugh, and there FB. I think they're in real big trouble, because they will have no leadership at all. IMO there gonna have some real long games, and maybe a long season.

The Tigers will be allright! They will win games like always and make the playoffs. If the line grows up and plays they should have a pretty good running game. The Tigers will be just fine

On offense, I look for the Tigers to be about a 60/40 team rush/pass. I hope to see more screens and short passes though. i think we can average around 175 ypg rushing and 150 ypg passing. 6 rushing plays out of 3-4 formations, will be plenty. 4-5 passing plays tops. Keep it simple and efficient. 4-5 yard per play, take care of the ball.
On D, I believe we can be better than last year. Hopefully we can get a few more to play this year so that the same old 15-17 players don't have to get beat up so much.
But either way, Paintsville will be looking to play as hard as they can.

Buckeyex7x
01-28-2007, 08:06 PM
Paintsville will be as good as they want to be just matters if they have the right attitude. Like Guru said they will be more rushing than passing and There D can be better than last year. Look for freshman Brett Reynolds to make a big impact:thumpsup:

Hazard came in second this past year....about their best finish in a long time, but act as if they have been top dog for decades. Must be nice to be moved out of the Dist. Eh?? LOL

No....last year, you went to the playoff's as the number 2 team in the dist. The year befor, you went to the playoffs as the number 3 dist team.
I now the format was changed this past year, and I am unaware that they gave you all a Dist. Championship trophy. I know you were regional runners up though.

What are you braggin about, Hazard has beat Paintsville a total of 3 times in the last 9 meetings. Once in 2003 after Paintsville lost everyone and Hazard returned everyone and twice in 2006 after both teams lost nearly lost everyone. We got a region championship my junior year (2001) and beat the heavily favored Hazard Bulldogs 36-6 AT Hazard on Hazards Senior Night, big deal. Congrats on winnin the region, good luck next year, this is a thread about Paintsville, noone cares about Hazard.

Hazard lost all their skill players from the 2005 season, the returned nearly all their offensive line. I'd rather return all my line rather than all my skill players which is what Paintsville pretty much had returned from the 2005 season. I'm sure the Bulldogs could careless about a regional title from 2001, bottomline is Paintsville should've beat them in the playoffs this year but choked. BTW, Hazard did not win the region this year, they were beat like a drum at Somerset. Just to clarify, in 2003, Hazard won the district and Paintsville seeded 4th playing with mostly freshman and sophomores. In 2004, Hazard placed 4th and Paintsville placed third. In 2005, Paintsville won the district while Hazard was the runner-up (I think, I could be wrong and Pikeville may have been the runner up). In 2006, Hazard placed 2nd and Paintsville placed 3rd but Hazard won the district in the playoffs by defeating Pikeville in the final seconds of the game.

I think---and Ive said this before...that Paintsville lost a lot in their skill players. Losing Pugh and Sublett will hurt because they will have to revamp their offense completely, and from playing with them, their line isnt all that great. They are good in knowing what to do, but not very strong. IF paintsville can get in the weightroom and work HARD, and they get some skill players to step up....theyll be alright. I think they may surprise some ppl including me nxt season tho. Sorry to get off topic before---GOOD LUCK paintsville- beat pikeville plz!!!!

I don't think they will have to change the offense at all if Humphrey plays QB. He can run and throw, but IDK if he play QB, he is their best receiver.

Paintsville is Paintsville so they will always be competitive in the district. I look for Paintsville to rely heavily on the run with Humphery at QB with Doderer and Reynolds in the backfield. The defense will still struggle against tough teams but there offense has talent. Outside of the district Paintsville will struggle but they should be a solid #2 in the district behind Pikeville.

I think that Humphery will stay at WR and Freshman Bret Reynolds or Jr Corey Adams will take QB. Humphery is better off as a WR with his speed and moves. Reynolds has a good arm and hard to bring down as well tall at about 6'2 or 6'3 and weighs about 215. Corey adams has played QB all his life till this last season where he took off for some reason but is playing again. He is about 5'10 165 and decent speed. He has a decent arm but not for sure if he will get the job over Reynolds.

OK Buckeyex7x... well i have herd alot of things about the tigers this year and from watching them last year i think they will be ok... Some people dont give credit to some of p-ville's such as patrick butcher(made alot of great defensive plays last year) also the Deaton kid He has got the best hands on the team fron what i've seen... it seems like every time the tigers needed a first down it was either throw it up to Deaton or let Pugh take it arround the end... i look foward to seeing those 2 kids play this year...

Look the only people that the tigers lost were pugh, sublett, and cantrell... Pugh was the only one of the them made an impact on the game... subby was to slow and cantrell didnt play have the season. The Tigers have everyone back but 3-4 players

Pugh, Sublett and when Cantrell was healthy was 90% of P'ville's team! I think all three of these guys were impact players, Sublett's play at LB was outstanding, just ask their opponents.

yeah this is kinda true, but subby did make an impact on D though and wasnt to slow for his size. Some of the players last year that made and impact and helped the team Tremendously on both sides of the ball does not get any credit what so ever!

I dont see how you can say that when he missed half the season. But your saying if no one else played besides these three then it would have been the same as having the other 8 on the feild? Well i think that is BS if im not mistaking Corey Humphrey, Tyler Deaton, Nehamia (spell check), Patrick Butcher, Bucky Bailey, Jake Cyrus, and J.J. Hensley made very huge plays for the team on both sides of the ball, and with out these boys then their reccord would have not been any better than 2-9!

He started our Senior year at DT with Ryan Brown. And if I remember correctly, he caused 2 big fumbles in the Apple Bowl that were a huge factor in the outcome of that game. He rarely touched the field the years before, but our Senior year he stepped up big time, and like Guru said, VERY dedicated.
