What kind of anti-virus is the best? I heard someone say that having NOD 32, Zone Alarm, and Webroot Spy Sweeper are the best to use.

I have Trend-Micro P-Chillin' and I love it!!! I do a full scan (virsus, spyware, security, malacious...everything) of my computer every morning at 9 am and it's proved to have been the best so far for me and it was free.

I had Ad-Aware and AVG. QQ recommends both of those. McAfee was REALLY annoying to me and made my computer run slower. It kept doing scans and upgrades or something on its own, even when I set the options not to.

ZoneAlarm is the best free ... firewall. Spy Sweeper trails SpyBot in terms of spyware-removal utilities. Neither do anything about computer viruses, however.

AVG Anti-Virus is the best anti-virus utility there is for Windows, and it's available for free at this site (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1).

I agree with TSH Zone Alarm is the best software firewall available and firewalls actually do good job theirselves keeping viruses from attacking your computer by not allowing access to certain ports..

AVG is another great free antivirus program..

The thing with ZoneAlarm is this: Unlike the Windows firewall, ZA tells you when programs are trying to access the Internet and allow you to decide whether you want those programs to phone home or not.

It's a handy way to ferret out spyware. :)

Best free anti-viruses are Avast home edition and AVG.

I don't run anti-virus software, it slows your pc way down.

I use AVG and it works well. It is also what the college requires for every computer to have before they can connect to the colleges network.

Since being on the Mac I haven't had to buy/run any anti-virus.
