JBS played as bad as I have seen them play. Problem was Powell played even worse. If either team would have played Breathitt tonight, BHS would win double figures. And as far as Powell being a force next year, I dont really see that happening, their JV was awful.

JBS showed the true team that I know they are tonight. I was soo proud of each and every one of them. This is the way that I know our boys can play, and if we keep it up, we could definitely make some noise in the rest of this tournament. Congratulations boys! You all played great tonight! Let's get ready for Breathitt!

Tate carried them tonight! GREAT ATMOSPHERE!!
Great team win for JBS... Both teams pobably shot worse tonight than they did all year. Not a good offensive game for either team but the defense was outstanding. Don't know the stats but Collins probably had a double double in blocks and rebounds. Short kid had big defensive and offensive night as well!

Good call on Romans stopping JBS. JBS is good but I cant stand Clint Stepp. He can not play defense and surely cant shoot. How many 3's did he shoot tonight?

Everyone like the atmosphere tonight? I know the fans sitting on the same section is a problem, but besides that how did everyone like it?
Tough loss for the Pirates because they had 11 seniors, but nice job and season........Congrats JBS,Tate deff carried you guys to the W tonight and Trey Short hit some big shots down the strech also in the 4th quarter.

The game was good I thought. Bad officiating I thought but it wasn't for one team, the refs just wasn't at their best. It was like that in both games in case you wasn't there. The only thing I didn't like was Coach Stepp goon player as Don Chaney would speak of and thats what #42 of JBS was. #42 for JBS came with only one purpose and that was to get Ryan Romans out of the game. He almost succeeded but would've been packing a major, major, beatdown if the referee didn't save his life. Both guys should've got technicals like they did but Coach Stepp shoulda got one or thrown out of the game. Thats low. Other than that it was a good game, Tate Cox led JBS to a win, not Stepp.

If it hadn't been for Tate Cox tonight the Stepps would be sitting home crying right now. It's about time they realize that Tate is the BEST player on their team. Clark couldn't hit water from a boat. Good job Tate and good game Powell.

Dont doubt what Coach Lively will bring out of these kids. The athletes and skill is there. Tough loss for the Powell seniors. They were successful this year and now they pass the torch down to the underclassmen.

I got one thing to say...them refs blowed on both sides....mostly against Powell.....the ref completely saved #42 's life.....Romans was about to lay him out but #42 started it....Powell played horrible...just came out cold and the 12 point margin dont seem right...Powell was only down 1 with like 3 min to go but couldnt pull it out......Tate Cox is the best player at JBS end of discussion...

I thought both games were very exciting and LCC has been an excellent host. The atmoshere was awesome. I didn't think the officiating was bad at all, in fact, both games were better officated than any of the other 14th regional games I seen this year. They actually let them play. I totally agree with whoever stated that Cox was the best player on the JBS team. Clark Stepp is the biggest ball hog I have ever seen. He had three opportunities on fast breaks in the first quarter to give it up but didn't and JBS failed to score on each of those. Why JBS replaces the Childers kid with Clint Stepp is beyond me, Clint would have to be on fire for it to be worth what they lose on defense.

I knew JBS would win, I said before that Powell didn't impress me, and that if too much focus was on trying to stop Clark then Tate would be the one to score. Great job JBS. Way to show them that your a powerhouse ball team too.

I called this one down to the officiating. My loyalty to the 56th was questioned because I said JBS would win. I said thier bigs would stop Romans and I said the ref's would hurt Powell more than JBS. well it wasn't my loyalty it was my judgement that was on target.
1. Romans has trouble with much taller players getting his shot off.
2. Refs from other regions don't let him bull over people.
3. Powell only had one quality win all season. Over Hazard at Powell
4. Outside of Romans there are a bunch of good players but no take over a game players.
5. They had no one with enough size to guard Stepp
6. Thier roughhouse style was not suited for 12 region officials.
Powell had a good year and they play very hard. But this is what I expected from this team all year. They had the same team last year and graduated no one. One more year of experience and everyone else losing players. Powell was the best in the 56th and a top 6 in the region. Next year we will see if Lively can pull a Jackson City. Powell graduates everybody from the varsity that played any minutes except Banks.

I couldnt believe they kept putting Clint in instead of Brock or Trey. I wonder how many he missed, he had to be 0 for 5 or 6. They were both doing far better than Clint. I guess it just goes to show you that family is more important than winning. If they dont stop putting family first and go for the win they arent going to get very far.

Not meaning to hurt any ones feelon If thats the true team then they're in trouble Monday...they looked awful and flat no intensity couldnt buy a shot They played good enough to beat powell and they have beat Breathitt once this year, but they changed their line up and it hurts the whole team. They put Lil step in at 2 guard and moved Cox out of his position, Then that puts Childers or Hall on the bench. Lil Stepp needs to be on the bench in defense and IF he is hitting play him on offense. If he is not hitting he is just in the way.

tate was at jbs all through gradeschool moron. get over the jealousy. i have said that over and over, but that is the truth. personally, i think tate is the best overall player on that team, but clark did take over at the end of the hazard game. jbs would has a good team. they would be hurting if they lost short, cox, garrison, clark, any one of their main players. it is people like you all that start all of that crap about clark saying or doing things. get over it.
by the way, if romans is better than anyone on jbs's team, why is he at the house?????? answer that one for me. i haven't ever seen the kid, but isn't he like only a 6'2'' center. sounds really dominating. how did he do against collins?
they might be heading back to pippa passes, but they will be heading back the 14th region champs. more than i can say for your team. i am a jbs fan, but i did support hazard last year in the state tourney.
