What do you all think about Powell winning this one? I honestly thought Powell would lose against Morgan. But Jesse Rose played good tonight. 3 rushing Td's i think. Jesse handled himself pretty well.

Morgan is struggling with their new coach and learning a new system. They should get better with time. I thought that Powell would beat them.

Morgan did get a new coach, plus they lost all their talent from last year. but, Powell did play good and losing their talent from last year ain't an excuse. Powell just outplayed them.

no, Billy Rice played. He just didn't play QB. He played receiver and defensive end. Jesse Rose played QB. I think Billy played QB a couple plays.

Powell lead 14-0 at the half, Powell also lead 33-0 at the end of the 3rd.
Powell played all freshman in the 4th, Morgan's varsity played the hole game and got 18 points late against 9 freshman on both sides. Powell is a class act, they could have scored 50 easily if coach Whitaker would have remained with his starters in the 4th.
Powell's D really played strong, The O line never gave up a sack the entire game.
Powell's varsity never played a down the entire 4th quarter.

Powell had a lot of mental mistakes vs. Jackson co., Powell is comming together with their new system and as a team. Powell had alot more speed than Morgan and was much more disciplined. Rose looked really good at Qb. Hardy broke a 60 yard punt return that was brought back because of a flag. Powell intercepted Morgan's qb 6 times on the night, One of the interceptions went for a touchdown but was brought back for a flag as well.
33-0 going into the 4th, Powell played every player on their team except for the starters the entire 4th quarter.

So does this mean Powell County has a better chance of winning with Rose at quarterback and Rice playing reciever? Rose shown that he could throw the ball last night and he is ALOT more athletic than Rice. Rice has slow footspeed. Wonder who will be the starting quarterback next week against Estill???:confused: :confused: :confused:

congraulations powell great game. did u know that the announcer at morgan co did not even announce powell counties line up and when the first 2 touch downs were scored he did not even ackowledge powell scored them. the morgan county players showed class and so do the morgan co coaches to bad their support staff had no class.
