Belfry is 2-0 (coming off a win aganist Lawerence Co.)
East Ridge is 1-1(coming off a tough loss to Grundy)

I honestly don't see my Pirates losing until we play JCHS, although if they get lazy or arrogant then there's about 4 games on the schedule that they'll drop because those teams are not going to lay down and die.

I voted for East Ridge, because I didnt want them to feel left out and anything can happen. I know that the odds of East Ridge winning is pretty slim, but I didnt want them to get 0 votes in the poll. It will either be Belfry by 60+ points, or East Ridge by 2.

There is no way ER can pull it off. Belfry can name the score. Only the class of Haywood keeps teams from East Ridge and Shelby Valley from getting absolutely embarrassed. This game will be over by the end of the first quarter. There is a lot of difference in playing Phelps and Grundy and playing Belfry.

well I agree that Belfry will probably win, but ER is most definatly not down, probably the most talented team they have ever had.

Epling is a decent back, against smaller, weaker teams, but trust me he will not do anything against Belfry, way to small to be effective against a strong Belfry Defense...

I agree, any team can pull off a win if the stars align, the other team makes alot of mistakes, an injury here or there at key positions, a risky call by the coach beats the defense.

Now with that said, I think the chances of East Ridge beating a very, very, good Belfry team are 1 out of 10,000. If East Ridge has any hope they had better hope that Belfry doesn't score, because after having sen ER play, and seeing their lack of big play ability, the chance of their offense scoring on Belfry's 1sts tring defense is very slim.


I do believe East Ridge is much improved this year, but it would be the biggest upset in Kentucky High School Football history if ER beats this year's edition of Belfry.

I'm glad you feel that way, because as a player on East Ridge, you are supposed to feel you have a shot at them.

That said, I, as well as any unbiased poster on here will say that no, you can't pull it off. But if you guys leave it all out on the field, you will have nothing to hang your heads about no matter what the score.

IMO, I think this is Belfry's BEST team in quiet some time, as they are rolling over people! East Ridge needs to just play football and play it hard as I am sure Coach Branham will preach and get out of his boys. IT will take a year or 2 before kids at East Ridge see's that there is no reason that they can't compete against teams like Belfry and Sheldon Clark and such. Just the best of Luck to E.R. and Belfry, aka, the classiest program in the state of Kentucky!

One thing for ER to be majorily concerned with. They run the ball a lot and their sucess rides on Epling. They wont run against Belfry, the Pirates havent went up against a run team yet, Corbin tried to but didnt work out to well, this team can stuff the run.

ER scoring comes in the second half against Belfry's JV squad which will be in after the half. Haywood doesn't like to score more than 50 in these type games. He will never run the score up on purpose....you can't just tell the kids not to score though when they get the chance.

you have to remember what size school belfry is compared to these schools.
east ridge could do alot better if they get the right coach. i don't know anything about their new coach but i wish him and th er warriors the best of luck.
er has a good size school with all the money they need to get things done but for some reason it just hasn't happened in football. it is strange because elkhorn high was a football school but for some reason it didn't trickle on down to the new school.

They go by Male Enrollment not toal enrollment for football. If they went by total enrollment Belfry and Sheldon Clark would be back down there in 2A.

Yeah, I don't think any of the area schools are competing up a class this year. Valley's male enrollment is well below that of Belfry, Pike Central, and especially East Ridge.

BMS VARSITY didn't get beat "all the time" last year and they won county. But your right, it seems that some of these teams who are strong in middle school never beat BHS in HS. Whats with that?
