Pikeville kicked off, intercepted the first play of the game, and scored 2 plays later. The Panthers were up 45-0 at the half. Long night for the Bobcats.

Stats to come.

Congrats to Pikeville for not running it up in the second half. The score could have been a lot worse.

Where are all the BL hypsters now? Sorry guys but BL has a long way to go. Just play your hearts out guys. That is all any one can ask of ya. Spirit is there, just not the talent, right...now.

Pikeville is off to a great start, but what looked like a tough early schedule might be a reason now to make us wonder just how good Pikeville really is.....all because Holy Cross, Ashland, and Betsy Layne are now a combined 0-9 and have been outscored 297 to 121. I would think next week will be a good test though!!

Hows this for redneck:
After the game while the teams were shaking hands, a BL player actually hit a Pikeville watergirl with his shoulder. The girl walked away in tears because her jaw had been temporarily knocked out of place. I'm not making this up - it really happened. Just disgusting.

Just disgusting. So I guess they figured since if couldnt tackle us all night then theyd tackle our water girls? Make this a fair fight and give our water girls some helmets and shoulder pads. My prediction in that game would be:
PHS Watergirls 14
BL-0
LOL!!!!

It kills me every time we go to places like Betsy Layne,Allen Central, and South Floyd just how uninspired their fans are. It seems to me like that when Pikeville comes to play at those places among others that the fans of that school we were playing would be fired up and ready to tear the place apart. But, instead, these fans act like its no big deal and that its just time to take their yearly beating. Even the few times the BL players done something good I didnt hear the crowd react at all. BL has some good athletes too. Its just too bad they arent appreciated. Im glad the Honaker boys realized this and wanted to come to a place where they knew they would be appreciated. The BL QB is good and would be a superstar at a school where football is taken more serious. I told someone at the game tonight that if I was the QBs dad Id either send that kid 15 miles down 23 south or 15 miles up 23 north to school. Instead of WASTING his talents at BL. I appologize If Ive offended any BL fan on here but shame on all of you guys for letting it happen, your kids deserve better. Wouldnt you agree?

I noticed the same thing last night. The Betsy Layne crowd was pathetic. This is why I once again think that they should just drop their football program. They just don't care!!!!

What about the grabbing or poking in the eyes the pikeville players did? Or the fact that the all mighty panthers onsided the ball the first half. Well, classy, yeah right!!! The bobcats have played three teams this year, and the blackcats have to be the classy team out of the three.

That is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. If this did happen and the player did do it on purpose, then someone definately needs to be punished. If you need to get some frustration out, you should of done it on the field, not to an innocent GIRL.

I talked to Coach Parsons, while they were shaking hands at the end of the game, a BL player had his head turned and walked right into a water girl, so it did happen, but by accident, the player still didnt know it was him. Good luck panthers the rest of the season, I hope we see you again in the playoffs!!!!!

This sounds more like it. I don't think a BL player would purposely harm a water girl.

I've got to agree with this scenario, I couldn't see a football player do something like this and I also couldn't see if the player do that intentionally a coach not immediately throwing the kid off the team. I do think that Pikeville is the best team in that district, but I also think that Betsy Layne could come away with the number two or three spot. Why? Because the district is that bad. Good Luck Bobcats! Keep your heads up.

First....If..Then...there was no need to even bring the names of the watergirls up.....heck even the fact that it happend didnt need to be brought up. second Pikeville onsided it because they are having a sort of kicking trouble this season if you hadn't noticed. I think they fixed it close to halftime though. As for what happens at the bottom of piles...well thats just football.

It was not an intentional onside kick. After I heard who was kicking for PIkeville I knew the kicks would be terrible. Mainly because that kid is a terrible kicker. Pikeville did get it straightened out around half time when they changed kickers.

Sounds like sour grapes to suggest that Pikeville is not a classy program. If they were as bush-league as some suggest, they would leave starters in the entire game. What would the score have been then? Onside kicks are part of the game... perhaps if BL had recovered some, they would not have chosen that route. Sounds like a decent strategy or a coach working on an element of his team that needed game experience.

It DID seem to be a planned onside.

The score at the time of the onside kick was 0-0. If it had been 50-0 when the onside happened, I might cry 'classless' too. The fact that it happened early with no score makes it seem like it was just something they wanted to work on in a live game.

Funny thing is, the kick was HORRIBLE (went 3 yards -- shows it definitely WAS something that needed work!) and BL got the ball in great field position...but they then proceeded to throw a PICK to give Pikeville the ball back on their 2nd play from scrimmmage.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Tim and Ted originally went to Pikeville and only attended Betsy Layne for 2-3 years in middle school. People like Tim and Ted want to come to places like Pikeville or Belfry for a shot at a state championship and a scholarship offer, which probably wouldn't happen at Betsy Layne.

Let's keep in mind that their dad went to and graduated from Pikeville. Also remember that they started out at Pikeville. If people didn't look to better themselves this whole world wouldn't be worth a crap load of crap. If they stabbed everybody at BL in the back they did the same thing when they left Pikeville the first time. Tim and Ted are exactlt where they belong. Maroon and White is just in their blood. They are true Panthers! I don't blame them for wanting to better themselves and I'll say that it was probably the best decision they ever made.
