Score very deceivable.Lawrence County was being totally owned 35-8 when LC scored two late scores on Russels reserves.Lawrence started very quickly and scored to go up 8-0 and their defense was flying all over the field and playing well then I dont know what happened.Receivers dropped passes time and time again.Russel made adjustments and LC didnt.

LC still needs to put together a complete game. When they do and they learn to do that every game watch out.

tomcatin is correct...The final score is deceiving...This was a 4 touchdown game late...But, a win is a win...Still have a lot of work to do...Have yet to put an entire game together...When you consider we have yet to do that and are still undefeated. it tells me that we can be pretty good by the end of the year...We will see...Tough one at Mason coming in a few weeks...

Good Win even tho the score don't show it but that happens when you put in your 2 and 3 teams in the 3rd qurter of the game cause we russell will not run the score up on anyone,,Could have been a lot wors if we would have lefted the starts in all game,,,

No worries for LC. This wasnt even a district game. Just some more practice!

Dawgs had a good game though! They played hard. Good luck next week boys!

Come on now, Yea there was one poss late in the 3rd that you had your 2nd team in but the last TD when we had our Freshman QB in your starting D-Line was in there, The game was closer then the score even showed. How lucky can you be to have the ball knocked out and no other person around but LC and the ball gets knocked straight into the arms of a Russell WR who was just standing around and able to just walk in from 30 yards out. I am not taking anything away from you guys at all but we were there we stopped ourselves again tonigh we moved the ball all night. Guys you will be in for a rude awaking if you have to play Belfry or SC. Russell is a class act. Congrats on the win.

Looks like we watched two totally different games.

As far as the starting D line being in there. Unless the radio was incorrect they were announcing the players in the fourth and there were maybe 1 or 2 starters in there.

Russell shot themselves in the foot a few times too. A block in the back wiped out an interception and run back for a TD. That evens out the fumble recovery by our WR. We gave that ball back to you.

I think the game was farther apart than the score actually showed. Ivan is known for subbing early and often when the game is in hand. Lawrence came out and scored first then it was 35 unanswered points until Lawrence scored on the subs in the 4 th quarter.
The first score came at the 4:51 mark of the fourth and the last TD came at the end of the fourth.

As for SC and Belfry. Belfry will be a tough challenge for anyone. SC barely beat a mediocre Rowan Co team tonight. Looks like their early season schedule didn't help them at all. The toughest test for Russell will be Mason Co in a few weeks.

With Russell you simply cannot gage the team on the score. Ivan will not run up the score on anyone. If he would leave the starters in all game most of his games this year would have been even more lopsided.

I was truly impressed with the hard nosed running of #23 Cody Roberts. The QB also did a fine job. Good arm, patient in the pocket and accurate. Good thing he was tall because it looked like the center had a tendency to snap the balls almost over his head. He had tons of time to throw most of the time due to lack of pass rush. Excellent job.

If he walked in from 30 yards away that doesn't say much about LCs team speed. :D
He was downfield and in position to make the play after a good run by the RB.

Also Russell lost three fumble and both scores did come against the JV in late in the 4th quarter.

I didn't get to make it to the game because I had other commitments, but I did listen to the game some on the radio. Sounded like it was a solid win for the DEVILS even though Coach McGlone has some worries(which I do agree with) about the way they start. I believe that Simon-Kenton is going to be a bigger test than most of us think (remember they play them before Mason). They beat a very good Ryle team just a couple of weeks ago. But this is about the Lawrence game and like I said sounded like another solid game from the players. REMEMBER they are back HOME this week for HOMECOMING and they will be DEFENDING the "R" again. By the way does anyone have an accurate account as to what the streak is right now?

Lawrence fans seem to think losing doesnt matter unless it a district game.Well in there district all teams go to the playoffs anyway dont they? There trying to turn that program around so losing never helps. At least they are admitting they are down.Compared to the past,,,,way down!!!There young and need to have a chance.Their coaches still winning only 3 or 4 games a year by the time this sophmore class are seniors they should wipe the slate clean and bring in all new coaches. If there back to where the Bulldogs were in the 90's give them all new contract extensions.

Well the walk in was a figure of speech. And yes we did score once on the JV but after the D stopped Russel's Jv they then put back in the starting D D-Line when we had our Freshman QB in with the starting O. Now there may have been JV mixed in with them but I seen the D-Line in. It really doesnt matter you guys still one.

According to the KHSAA there were;

5 in 03
9 in 04
8 in 05
8 in 06
3 in 07 so far for a total of 33. Unless you are counting the state game in which they wore their home jerseys but i don't count that because we were not at the Hank.

I listened to Coach's comments after the game and he brought out the fumbles right off. Cannot remember his exact quote, but it was something like "You just cannot put the ball on the ground 4 times in a game. I don't care if your a 9th, 10th or 12th grader. When your protecting the lead, get what you can. Go down if you have to. You can't let a team back in the game that way". He also was asked about the 100+ in penalty yards again and ask if they were because of lack of concentration or over aggressiveness. His comment was "mostly stupidity". Don't know about all of them being that way, but I agree you can't make that amount and continue to win. On a final note, they ask him about the team makeup and the constant falling behind in games; His comment was "we cannot continue to get behind and expect to win, because one game you won't. I just can't seem to get a read on this team yet. When I think they're ready to play, we give up an easy 1st qtr TD..."

I thought these were some pretty straight to the point comments from Ivan, and I expect it to carry over on Monday.

Coach is a pretty "straight to the point" person. I heard those comments after the game and just started laughing. Classic Ivan. If you asked him how the season went and they were 10-0 he would probably say "decent".
