I won't exactly make a prediction, but I will say that I think Pikeville is the favorite, followed by Belfry. I base this on regular season performances. I think there will be some pretty good games on the last two nights of the tournament.

The tournament started yesterday with Phelps defeating Virgie, Millard defeating Kimper, Feds Creek defeating Mullins, and Pikeville defeating Phelps in the 1st game of the 2nd round. Tomorrow the 2nd round continues with EC playing Johns Creek, Dorton playing Millard, and Belfry playing Feds Creek.

Didn't Belfry and Pikeville split games this year? IMO this is going to be one good game to watch!!

I think Belfry beat Pikeville at the EC tournament as well, but Pikeville has been playing the best ball lately. Should be an exciting last couple of rounds of the tournament.

yea, the last game @ Pikeville one of Belfrys best players got hurt so Pikeville pulled away with ease

Actually, Belfry beat Pikeville 3 times. Twice at Belfry (one was kinda of preseason game) and 1 time at EC. Yes, Pikeville pulled away with ease in the last game at Pikeville. But Belfry was also missing their starting center in that game. She is back, so it should make for a great game, if both get a chance to play each other again.

Tonight in the 2nd round Elkhorn defeated Johns Creek, Dorton defeated Millard, and Belfry defeated Feds Creek. That sets up a pretty good semifinal round on Wednesday with:

TOP BRACKET
Pikeville vs Elkhorn @ 5:30

BOTTOM BRACKET
Dorton vs Belfry @ 7:00

One of the Potter twins for Pikeville didn't play in that last game either. Neither did the 6th grade Potter girl............

well... elkhorn beat dorton(dorton played awful)... which gave them third... and belfry beat pikeville... congrats lady pirates... good game tonight...

Congrats to the BMS Lady Pirates on an outstanding win last night.:letsparty It was a great atmosphere with the all the fans from both sides cheering. I had a good time just listening to the kids from both middle schools cheer for their team. Some of the funniest cheers I have ever heard.:)

Also, congrats to the four girls from BMS that made the All Tournament team. There was not an MVP trophy given out, but without a doubt Caitlin Woolum would have won it. IMO. Scoring 24 of the final 40 in the Championship game, with well over 10 assist and guessing around 9 steals. In the previous two games she had two double-doubles. Not to take anything away from the other girls, but she stood out among the rest.

Yes, it was a close game the first half. Then Belfry pretty much ran away with it the 2nd half. A one point they had a 13 point lead, then started playing conservative, trying to burn the clock.
