I really thought Whitaker from Johnson Central was gonna make some noise this year, he still did a pretty good job though, but I'm sure Pikeville has someone that can play with some of the big boys at state.

Joe Whitaker would have to be the favorite to win the 15th region next year but he will have a hard time at state considering there plenty of good competition

The only way that someone from the 15th has a chance to compete at the state level is if they actually get out and play on courses away from the area. Not many courses can compete with the major courses down state.

Pikeville does a pretty good job of trying to get out in the state and play in some major tournaments, but even this doesn't help much. Playing once a week on these courses isn't enough. Plus it takes a bunch of dedication and focus on mainly only golf and no other sports.
