I like these rankings so far. I'm sure Belfry and Prestonsburg will both move up through out the season. You gotta have them kind of low to start out since they have lost most of their skilled players.

I think both Pburg and Belfry will start out slow, but come playoff time they will both challenge for a Regional Title.

Pburg looses 9 seniors if im not mistaken.

Belfry Wins

Belfry obviously looses some talent but they arent going to be down as what people thinks next year. Matt Maynard I look for him to be moved somewere besides WR and he has good speed real good speed. Then Dustin May will be a good Rb. Reminds me of Doug. Then we will have a suprise or two that people dont even really know about not even most of the Belfry fans. I also look for alot more WV guys to come over next year cause of the new school I know if I lived over there Id go to Belfry

We will be down but not out. The district will be down as usual. As usual Belfry & P'Burg will battle it out for the District Title yet again. I look for Cawood or Russell to win the Region though as bad as I hate to say it.

I wonder who those "Suprises" are ??? :?:

Please don't start bashing on this board too. I know Belfry will be down next year, so will everyother team in the region.

P-burg and Belfry should be moved up.

P-burg will have a very experienced line next year on both sides of the ball and a good QB in Shaffer.

You'll have to excuse me Live....I don't know what i was typing....If you know me then you know i would never say that about pikeville.....What i meant to say was....I don't think pikeville is ranked high enough....I believe they will venture much higher than they are currntly ranked....As a matter of fact i believe they will atleast make it as far as they did this past year....They get them selves a few experienced lineman....a whole lot better special teams that knows how to fair catch a punt or kickoff, then yu have a panther team who may go all the way......but, ofcourse, only time will tell....i guess we will just have to wait to see what the panthers fate will be?

liveMAROON
01-19-2005, 12:16 PM
oh i see......and i am in total agreement with you mania......as i know this 2005 team is going to have alot of talent

Farva

I think Pikeville is definitely deserving of their top 10 ranking, but they do have an awful lot of question marks and holes to fill. Then again the Panthers have quite a bit of talent. How good the Panthers are next season will depend largely on how well everyone is able to accept their role. With all the young talent, some players may have to play positions that they may not want to. Pikeville's success next year will lie with how much and how fast their defense improves.

Everyone is leaving out the most experienced team in the mountains next year. Leslie Co. If i'm not mistaken, they only lost 1 or 2 SR's off last years squad, and most of these kids have been starters since they were sophmores. Some hard work in the off-season and these kids could win their region, if not more than that. I know i'm going out on a limb here, this post might come back and bite me, but after playing against them last year, these kids want to win, and they have alot of talent and experience.

Everyones top 10 choices look good with one small change I would make; Southwestern is ranked below Rockcastle Co. on everyones poll. I would rank SWHS over Rockcastle due to the 48-0 drilling. SWHS is returning alot and will be a better team this year than last. :D

Some "Underdogs" to look for would be SV, PC, and Law. Co.

SV-few years away from making a lot of noise IMO
PC-I hope you are talking about Perry Central and not Pike Central...really I would be surprised if either make it past the first round of the playoffs if they make it at all, esp. Pike Central.
Lawrence Co.-Should be a real good team but man what a tough schedule.

Another team to keep in mind is Whitley County with the good RB they have returning next season.

I believe you are talking about Ladale Rider?........if i am correct he broke the Whitley county high school season rushing record(1577yds.) which was previously held by Cumberland College coach Bobby Joe Lawson

Yeah Rider is who I was thinking about liveMaroon. He may be the best RB in the mountains next season. If they can put a good surporting cast around him, then they will make some noise.

Jesus Christ people give it a rest. This is about the Mtn. Top ten.. Not a Central bashing thread. Or any team for that matter. Now if you guys can't keep it on topic, then shut the **** up.. I'm getting sick and tired of people ruining perfectly good threads just because they disaggree with what someone has to say.

If you disagree then that's fine, it's your opinion, but no one can see into the future and know for sure what will happen. So instead of just downgrading a team, for whatever reason, just stick to the topic.

Pike Centeral Has had alot of off seasons due to a coach who always plays with his nuts. But this year will be different since we have coach Mac leading this team. But with coach Mac leading the team we'll be regional champs in no time.
