IMO Cantrall's Rankings should sometimes be taken with a grain of salt [ as old times folks would say]. Any RECOGNITION the MOUNTAIN SCHOOLS get , I feel is well EARNED and DESERVED...............!

Shelby Valley has beaten the #5 and #13 teams and their only instate loss has been to #6. They win two games this week by an average of 16.5 points and drop.

JBS goes from 17 to 10 after winning the WYMT which other than Hazard wasn't exactly that difficult.

Adair loses to the 10th ranked team out of the 11th Region and only drops 3 spots.

Paintsville drops out?

I just don't understand why the rankings changed so much over the course of one week.

LOL....I agree.....These rankings are funny more than accurate!
SV should be top 10 IMO, Hazard should be there somewhere (GoodG Grief)!!! And Paintsville beats the #14 team in W.Va. by 16 points in a game that was never even close and they drop two "Cantrell" Points and fall out of the rankings!!!

Nobody in the mountains has beat Valley or Paintsville either. What makes JBS so much better when they're only credible win was against Hazard who they had a VERY hard time beatin.

JBS should be #12
SV should be at least in the TOP 15...the #21 ranking is showing nothing but disrespect and a failure to give credit when credit is due...
Paintsville should be in the Top 20...
Hazard should be ranked...

Wow, Valley really got knocked down pretty good despite two wins last week, falling ten spots from #11 to #21. I guess the computer felt SV didn't blow out East Ridge and Betsy Layne like it thought they should. Oh well.

Also, I don't believe Paintsville should have fallen out, although I bet they didn't get credit for beating that team from West Va. I assume Cantrall's computer probably doesn't factor in out-of-state games.

Hazard has played an extremly weak schedule with the farthest game the play in state was at South Floyd...Hazard has won really close games over Knott,Perry Central,Cumberland,Clay Co,etc were they could have easily lost those games. Hazard is not even close to being a top 20 team and I think LCC,Cordia,PCC,KCC,and even Buckhorn could easily knock off Hazard in the region this year. Hazard has played too many close games this year.

Yeah, one being JBS.
They beat Desalles who has been in some top 10 polls rather easily. They also beat Madison Central rather easily in their last preseason game after taking #3 Bryan Station to overtime.
