Final from Prestonsburg...

Paintsville really come to play, Landon Slone had well over 20 points (not sure on actual total), he also played quite sloppy with a few turnovers. Prestonsburg played a pretty good game again they couldn't hold onto the ball, as they dropped numerous rebounds that turned into Tiger points. Paintsville largest lead was 19 and that was in the start of the 4th quarter but Prestonsburg rallied back to cut it down to 10 but that was as close as they could get it. A lot of heart was shown tonight from the Blackcat seniors along with Michael Burchett, they really wanted to win this game but they were just over matched.

Congrats Tigers... Great effort Blackcats!

This was a well played game by both teams. The Blackcats showed alot of heart and showed that they really wanted to win. Paintsville is just good. That's all there is to say. They are VERY unselfish and they work great as a team. They all can shoot the ball and they know where everyone is on the court. Congrats Paintsville. Keep your heads up Blackcats!

Congrats to all the seniors at Prestonsburg.
Paintsville kinda went to sleep in the third quater but overall played a good game. I think they shot in 50-60% range. Blake Bundy is whitling away at that 1000 point milestone. Congrats to him.

Paintsville shot 51% for the game, Cats shot 40%.

Blake needed 17 points to reach 1,000, he got 6 points but had nine assists. That IMO is what I like about the kid. so close.....so unselfish!

Blake Bundy is a real good point guard. Probably one of the most underrated guard in the region. He has great vision and can pass the ball anywhere and everywhere.

Did anyone else notice how many times that these two teams were helping each other up off the floor. I think it was nice to see that these kids were having fun, no matter what the scores were. You could sense a feeling of friendships and just plain fun.

Yep, especially when the Stephens kid's feet, stopped working when he got the steal and was trying to beat the clock. LOL He just hit the floor and laid there face down laughing. Everyone in the gym was laughing with him. The Tiger players were patting him on the back and trying to help him up. That was one of the best moments of the night. I still get a chuckle when I thing about it. A lot of great sportsmanship tonight.

It's good to see, Pack and Slone both grew up with a lot of these boys.

What a feel good game. One of the few times I've left a gym this season with a smile in my heart. Both teams were class acts and had a good time. This is what high school sports is supposed to be about. Awesome game from both teams, great sportsmanship!

Yes, a lot of sportsmanship was shown last night, all these players know each other real well and get along with one another real well also.

You usually don't see that happening between two rival schools.

Congrats Tiger. Paintsville simply put is a great team. Even though the cats were not going to win this game they played with great heart and kept it close for the most part. Keep up the good play and keep that same heart for district. I also thought the sportsmanship was great- it the meeting at center court between captins you couold see the respect for each other. And I thought the point in the game were JD fell on the baseline and the cats were off in transition, Stephens stopped to help JD up. Great to see from both teams. This was an enjoyable game to watch. I truely beleive that Paintsville is the class of the 15th, good luck down the road to rupp.

I did notice that and thought it was a very commendable thing. Why did young Mr. Clark get called for a technical foul? I was in no postion to see it but never saw anyone from Prestonsburg's bench appering to be an aggressor toward the ref.

Taylor Clark got called for a technical because he was going back and forth with the ref about the foul that had been called on him. He wasn't yelling but he kept on and on until the ref had enough. Kind of a bad clal but it happens. All in all though there was alot of sportsmanship.

I would say it was more the refs fault because he followed Clark to the bench as Coach Crisp took him out and then called the T. He should have let the kid go to the bench and vent. Clark wasn't yelling or making a sceen, at least let him go to his bench and say something to his coach. But that were you get back to 15th officials. A lot of them are on an ego trip and want to show everyone who is running the show.

The scorekeeper is behind Pburg's bench. The ref was just signalling to them who the foul was on, I guess being that close, he might have heard enough about it being a bad call.
