Never heard of him, but congrats...
He is a 6'6" forward for JBS that sometimes didnt get the recognition that he and other players on the JBS team deserved because the PR was always centered towards one person. Short was just selected last week for the Ky Gatorade/Adidas Senior All Star Game to be played on April 5th...

I know why I haven't heard of him, believe me, lol.
This just amazes me even more. This kid is 6'6" and the other big boy is what, 6'9"-6'10". No excuse for them not to have won the 14th Region. Nothin against the other teams in the region but when you got two boys that big (and obviously one of em is pretty good to get a scholly to Transy) to go along with the Stepps and Cox. Amazing. That coach and his entire staff should be fired.
Congrats on makin the all-star game too.

He surely never got any help from that coaching staff..They have spent all of their time on a PR campaign for another JBS player..
Anyways someone should start a thread that list all of the kids in East Ky who are going to play college ball and where they are playing at and keep it updated. It would be nice to give all these East Ky kids the recognition...

I think Trey is more like 6'3 or 6'4. No way he is 6'6.

Congrats to Trey and his family for this great accomplishment. I wish the best on the next level. Use the ball to get a education instead of the ball using you. Awesome job Trey

Transylvania only gives academic scholarships.
Transylvania only gives academic scholarships.
They recruit players that are smart and qualify academically and then recruit them for their basketball team. They play NCAA Division III so that is the reason they do it that way. Actually alot of schools in the NAIA will do just that if a kid is smart enough they will actually put him through on a academic scholarship and save the others for those that dont qualify.
I think Trey is more like 6'3 or 6'4. No way he is 6'6.
You must be thinking of someone else because Short is actually probably over 6'6"...

its good to see any kid from eastern kentucky go anywhere to play ball and further their education. Its good to see Transy take a kid that was never used the right way at JBS because it was all about the Stepp brothers and if I was the Collins kid I would be looking for somewhere to transfer because next season will be the Clint show but congrats to Short.:flame:

and they can only give you so much of a academic scholarship. He will prob get $10,000 off so he will still have to pay like $15,000 a year.

Is Transy considered a private school. Most private schools are alot more expensive than UK, FLA, UL etc. Pikeville College, Univ of Cumberlands etc. are all more expensive.

He could qualify for a full academic scholarship, therefore he would have to pay no money out of his pocket. The financial aid office will do the best they can to get him as much money as they can, then he'll have to cover the rest of what they don't award him.
Good Luck Trey

I dont know if Transy gives full academic scholarships to athletes or not. Could be wrong though.

Yes they do...if you get a presidential scholarship it pays the full tuition of 128K over 4 years for a free ride..

Congrats to Trey. At JBS during his HS playing career, was a very good player on both ends of the floor, but his skills were not used. Should be able to play the 2 or 3 position at this level with great success because of his ball handling ability, passing skills, rebounding, shooting ability, and able to guard a player either out on the floor or down low because of his speed and jumping ability. Trey will get a quality education there second to none and give him a start to very succesful life. Congrats. to Tim and Katrina on raising a fine young man.
