View Full Version : What's Next for Lorenzen?
The Giants are reported to have signed David Carr to a one year deal to become the backup for Eli and the Giants. This puts Lorenzen back at the #3 spot (although he can still fight for the job). Will he be able to stay in NY?

I believe New York will keep him. He knows the system and he is a good signal caller to Eli.

Carr really hasn't had a good NFL career. I think that Lorenzen can actually beat him out of the 2nd QB. He knows the system and he knows all the players and has good chemistry with them.

I would guess not... It is hard for a rookie QB to come into an expansion team(ala Tim Couch) and have a great career. Carr is a good QB that just got put in a bad place. Most of his good early years spent getting sacked for record numbers.
Now back to Fatboy... He will eventually get cut. As bad as I hate to see it.
How can anybody say he has great chemistry with the team? He never got to play!! If I were him I would coast through the league wherever, get a paycheck, invest, and lay around the rest of my life. 3rd string QB is almost as sweet as being an NFL kicker.

Hey, as long as he's still in the league, I can say I played against an NFL QB.
Either way, Carr doesn't impress me much: he's had more INTs than TDs in all but two seasons, and his frame just doesn't strike me as a big, intimidating QB who can inspire and lead a team to a victory.

I think he'll still be the backup even with David Carr.

He'll stay with the Giants. And move to tackle.

I dont know he's kinda quick for his size. Possibly a pulling guard? Or he could just say screw it and start competing against that japanese guy eating hot dogs! haha

He will compete with Carr for the backup QB position and I think Lorenzon will get it. Carr has not had a very successful career in the NFL and everytime Lorenzon is given a chance he has produced.

He will probably find another team that needs a capable backup. He's a lot better quarterback and athlete than some people give him credit for.

They won the Superbowl with him as a Backup, so why change anything?
