LLOYD — For the third time in two years, Greenup County has hired a new boys’ basketball coach. Hopefully, the Musketeers won’t have to conduct another search for a long time to come.
Earlier this week, Greenup County alum and former Rose Hill head coach Tim Fraley was hired to lead the Musketeers into the 2008-09 season.
“After events of the past two seasons, I needed to hire someone that will bring a large degree of stability to the program,” Greenup County principal Matthew Baker said.
Fraley, 40, seems to fit that bill for the Musketeers. He played there as a high school student, began his coaching career there as an assistant and has taught in the system for 15 years.
“I played here and coached here early in my career so I’m a Greenup boy,” Fraley said. “I think I will be a familiar face out in the community and this is my home. I’m not going anywhere and I’m not going to be looking for a job next year. That’s what the boys need.”
