Didn't goto this one... Looks like the bats were hot but I heard that there were alot of errors by some of the backups. But it was 21-1 Prestonsburg, when they put the JV/Backups in.
Congrats Blackcats!

Chris Schoolcraft started for Prestonsburg not sure on the stats and Kody Howell started for South Floyd and give up 8 runs and didnt finish the 1st inning...Colby Hayes came in relief and got the 3 outs to end the inning and after 1 the score was either 14-1 or 16-1 p-burg

Score was 11-1 in the first inning. Pburg looked good tonight. Well the JV did anyway LOL

I guess it is easy to find someone to play baseball when your what a 3 -a school now. At worst a 2 A to beat a team that that has a tolal HS enrollment around 280 is a place that either plays football or baksetball. I will go out on a limb here and say that you have a geart deal of students that can not make the other teams so they play basseball. Before you get your arms up I might be crazy but i think that i can find some good players out of 30 plus instead of having to pley middle school plays. Not being smart, but it is easier to pick the best from a group then to have to figure out what is your best chance.

Well I couldn't understand half of what you said, but just face it. No one is trying to bash south floyd, it's just evident they are not that good this year. Don't bring numbers into this because Paintsville is a very small school as well and they don't have any trouble in athletics.

Oh yeah Prestonsburg has at least 1,000 students. Not. The same people play every sport pretty much. The whole starting line up plays either football basketball and baseball . They are just good athlete's. Prestonsburg is a 2 A school so they don't have too many students either.

I'm not sure what your point was in this post. But Prestonsburg will be joining SF, BL and AC in the "All A" next season. So apparently the enrollment at Pburg isn't huge.
As far as the remark about "a great deal of students that can't make the other teams so they go out for baseball"--I have one question- Have you watched Pburg play basketball or football? Just off the top of my head- Hughes, Craynon, Setser, Schoolcraft and Stephens are top football players at Pburg. Rodebaugh, Setser, Hughes, Tyler Hall are basketball players. I'm sure I am missing some of these boys. But most of Pburg's line up plays more than one sport- and many of them play 3. If you look at BL and AC - you will see much of the same. I know at AC Hammonds- 3 sport starter, Logan Crowder 3 sport starter, Hunter Crowder 3 sport starter, Josh Prater 3 sport starter prior to this seasons broken hand. Chris Stumbo and Justin Jackson play 3 sports- Varsity starters in 2 sports. Micki Parsons 4sports (he is running track and playing baseball this spring). Austin Prater 2 sports.
For whatever reason- the students at SF choose not to play baseball. A coaching change might also help. Nothing personal towards the coach- but I honestly think a change would be beneficial to SF's program. I noticed one of the Hall boys is coaching 3rd base for SF- maybe he can breathe a little life into the program.

That would be true about their baseball team if their basketball and football wasn't equally as bad. They are struggling the past couple of years to put a competitive team together in any sport. Maybe they have just run into a bad bunch with no talent.
