Kentucky falls to #10 Vandy in series opener.

Looks like Kentucky's bullpen did a very nice job but the bats didn't get going in this one. Wildcat junior starter Chris Rusin was masterful for eight complete innings, allowing seven hits and three runs, striking out eight without issuing a walk, dropping to 4-2 on the year with a hard-luck loss. Rusin was perfect through four innings, allowing the first Vandy hit of the game with one out in the sixth inning.

Tough loss for the Cats. They aren't doing well in the SEC at all. At least that was the last time I looked at their record. It may have changed now.

They won the series over Vandy 2-1.

UK is 33-11 overall and 11-10 in the SEC. They are tied for 4th place overall in the SEC right now with South Carolina, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. Georgia(15-5), Florida(12-9), and Vandy (11-9) are ahead.
