Before you read the actual topic please do not mention Paul Lewis in this thread, unless it is a nice thing to say.... I do not like the man either but I do not want this thread to go in the way I have seen other conversations about the team.

Who all will be playing and will they be as dominant... I know they lost a lot of big players

Matt Fyffe
Kory Darby
Justin Blanton
Brandon Williams
Daniel Pugh
Austin Wright
and I am sure there are more

But they always pick up more talent who will it be?

I'll say Paul Lewis's name because I like the guy and think he does a lot of good things for area youth baseball.

Brandon Williams only played liked two games last year. From what I understand also anybody that played last year, that plays for Greenup Co. will be playing on a Greenup Co. exclusive summer team.

They also lost JC Murnahan and Corey . What about James Barber?

JC can come back... Corey quit at the end of last year pulling one of his usual stunts by cussing out an umpire... and James I think is to old but not sure...also Austin Wright I think will be on the Greenup Team....

Why don't more schools do exclusives?

I'm not sure but I wish they were more summer teams for the boys to play on. When you only have one team in the area to play on, you either have to take what ever the coach dishes out, Like play players that he likes instead of letting everyone have a chance to work on his game in the summer. or you quit and don't play. For some kids it is don't play either way. You can sit and watch others play or you can quit. I wish more teams could get going in the summer so the boys could all get the playing time they want and deserve.

Probably because of the expense. Baseball's and umpires for home games. Couple shirts and paints for players. Very expensive operation.

I know (at least for the younger high school players), others get in the way of teams. At Russell, they had a 15 and under team for their high school players in the summer and the Babe Ruth threw a MAJOR hissy fit saying the high school was taking their players. The school backed the Babe Ruth and asked the coach to not have the under 15 team this year. I think this could be issues at other schools as well, but I don't know.

I think they will be good but they will not be able to compete at the normal level without that one great pitcher.... They had Matt last year who carried them on the mound.....

They will be in need of some good pitchers. If Grimm throw he will be their number 1 I'm sure, but a lot of the local high schools are playing summer and making their kids play with them. So his numbers may be down, and the quality may be down as well.

I thought his dad told his Pikeville summer coach he was going to play there. That's a real way to go about doing somebody. Too many people go out of their way in this world to help other people out , and then they get stabbed in the back in return.

I do not know him so I can not really comment.... I do not think they will be that good this year though....

I would say the kid from Greenup will be the #1.

Not if Grimm is throwing he won't. Grimm is also a lefty and throws 5 to 6 MPH faster than Heinerman. If Grimm is on this team he will be pitching ahead of Heinerman.

Heinerman has already signed with Morehead State. Grimm pitches about 80-83 and Heinerman pitches 80-82. I'm sure both might be able to hump up and hit 85 but they pitch low 80's.

Well your wrong about Grimm. He throws and works in the 84-86 range and has hit 87 on seceral occasions. Heinerman has barely broke 80 this year, but I am sure he can pump it up to 82 on some occasions, but not consistently. Both are great pitchers, but Grimm is a little bit better at this point. Those particular numbers came from a game earlier in the year and a work out he did for Walters State, in which has a much better team than Morehead State.

He has not signed, but has been offered. I am not sure on the details of all the offers. There are certain reasons that you may can figure out on your own without me posting it on why D1 is out right now. If you can't figure it out pm me and I will tell you otherwise leave it at that. He is an excellent pitcher, and yes he is better than Heinerman. He locates just as good with better velocity and a nasty changeup complimented by a slider/curve, more of slurve.

I had heard that too. There are a lot of kids who aren't playing for the Post teams. Most of them are playing with their high school teams now during the summer.

I think it is better that way for the high school programs... Boyd done it for a while and they won the region or was a large contender year in year out,..... BTW I think Tyler is playing on the greenup team but not 100 % sure

not completely sure of committments either way ,,,Adams hasn't heard from pikeville @ this point to my knowledge but he must evaluate the best playing situtation for himself....ashland has a 50 plus game schedule which includes UK team camp and probably 30 plus games in the fall and they only have one other catcher on the older team...pikeville has at least 3 other catchers which means a lot more split time.... so I think him and his dad must talk to both coaches and determine the best route ....I don't think that is doing anybody wrong!!!!!

It's about the Kid NOT THE COACHES

Well I am not sure on any of the commitments. However, if he did indeed make a commitment to one side it would be the right thing to uphold that commitment. It would be bad to start burning bridges at a young age.
