Pregame Rituals

I was wonderin if you all do or ever did have any pregame rituals that you did before every game

U all may think I'm weird, I know there are worse rituals than mine....


During football season over the last 2 years.....I have worn the same shirt and listen to the same "zone music" the night before and the day of the game. It has worked......Belfry has won 2 straight State Titles ! I would tell ya what my "zone music" is, but I won't.

I always leaned up to a brick wall, listening to heavy metal music banging my head off of it. Then I'd go to my locker and start punching it. Before we went out on the field I'd always head bunt all of my players and scream and yell. That always got me pumped. It had to work because I was an All-District, Region, Area player and got the chance to play at EKU.

WoW....you are lucky that u still have brain cells buddy. Here at Pikeville we all lay in the dark listening to the big CD changer jam packed with Pump Music untill its time for pregame warmups

Before games, I like to get my game pants and shirt and stuff on as quickly as possible. Then I just sit back in my locker with my hat pulled down low, don't say a word, and occasionally get a pound from my buddy. It helps me get my mind right.

Before the game i eat two hotdogs and listen to george childers pregame speechs i ahve on tape ahahha

I have a weird on that no one can match i go to devotion then i go to team meetings and then lights out ( wait there is more) i then pray for no injuries on either team and for our team to somehow prevail. I then sort of pray to my sister and ask her for help strength and courage throughout the game

WE eat as a team after school and then go to the lockerroom and rest. About an hour before the game we all start listenin to music, while i run around pumpin everyone up

before every game i like to enjoy a killer meal with my teamates and then we all rest. while everyone is resting i pray for a good 20-30 minutes and get completely calm before we turn on the pump up music....

oh yea...i tape my wrists before EVERY game...im not supersticious, but i really think it oddly made me do better....it allowed me to play a very good playoff game...muahah! lol

Hurley, Remember the peace with inches speech by Al pacino. I always listened to that before the games. Even if was in the morning before school or right before the game. We also always ate together as a team at peking on thursday the day before every game. I get sad to think about it because ill never get to do it again. This is to the memories hurley.

I have someone tap me in the head repeatedly until i want to rip his head off and beat him with it. then i go and sit and listen to Hardcore Metal music. mainly Slipknot. i dont say a word.... then i pray for a good 10 minutes. and think about someone special...... she means the world to me.

I don't recall you ever havin any cowboy boots or tight jeans, Notre Dame hat yeah, but the other two no. Don't recall you tapin your cleats either, ankles maybe but not cleats. And as for the hittin yourself and screamin, just the before the Apple Bowl cause you were mad about JC makin fun of you in the annual "Top 10" list. And that was my country CD you listened to, lol.

I'd always joke around with my teammates about random stuff to keep me loose. Put my uniform on, lace up my cleats, take some tylenol and play the game. Afterwards, sack up my stuff and head for the showers then home. I just loved playing football and the oppertunity to shine under those lights every Friday night. I miss those days.

Lets see, sometimes I went home to eat or sometimes I just ordered something. Then I would I would just sit around and talk to some friends, relax, then probably eat some more. I usually didn't get my stuff on until a little late because, it really didn't seem to get me more or less prepared just because I had tighter pants on and shoulder pads. Then I sat around and watched guys go crazy and smack theirselves on the head for some unknown reason, I guess so they would get down the field faster during kickoff and miss tackles or get blind sided. Or so they could let a punt almost roll to a stop, but then at the last second jump out and touch it just at the right moment where the other team could recover late in the 4th. Then I would strap up and play the game.

At pburg we are never allowed to leave the school before a game, unless of course there was no school on that particular friday, we would go into the fieldhouse and listen to Pink Floyd, pantera, and hank Jr untill 5 30, then our team chaplin, Arnold Turner would come in and have devotional with us untill 6 15, then we would get dressed and taped and warm up an hour before the game started, we would usually come b ack in at about 6 45 and sit in total silence untill the refs called for captains, man, am i ever gonna miss those days..............

hey they ask for rituals.......its just superstition......my first varsity game when i was a freshman,....i started and i was so nervous i forgot to tie my right cleet...and i had a pretty good game......so now i do it b4 everygame
