I thought Shelby Valley showed alot of class tonight. They jumped on Magoffin early, scoring 14 in the 1st Q, then scoring 26 in the 2nd, it was 40-0 at the half. They came out in the 3rd and tried younger kids at several positions, while leaving some of their starters in the game. At the end of 3, their head coach subsituted for all their juniors and Seniors, letting them remove their shoulder pads and helmets. The JV finished the game.I'm sure that the parents of players from both teams were very pleased with this decision, a classy move in my book. I also noticed that Valley's Starting QB and Starting FB didn't dress for the game, Taylor Johnson and Zac Mullins????? I believe that's their names.

QB Tyler Johnson suffered a right ankle injury in the last play of the game against Sheldon Clark i believe and im not to sure about Zack Mullins, also i should know almost anything about shelby valley basketball or football just incase anyone has any questions.

Shelby Valley is another school with kids that play hard and are very respectful and their coaches are class acts. Good Luck Wildcats with the rest of the season and beyond.

I just dont understand how we can lose so bad!!:wtf1: i mean we have such a good team and alot of good players. well i think that Magoffin County should come out some to some home games and cheer for our team and maybe that will help us alot.. knowning that Magoffin Co. is there to help support them and cheer them on during the games..but alot of the players at school think they will win but idk what is wrong with our team...:(

MAG. CO. WILL NEVER HAVE A TEAM THAT CAN COMPETE AT A HIGH LEVEL UNTIL PEOPLE STOP DISSING THEM EVERY CHANCE THEY GET. i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

Hornets Fan, So What You Are Saying Is That Kids Who Only Have 4 Yrs. Of Football Will Throw All Of It Away Beacause They Don't Like The Coach Or Say He Doesn't Know Football. It Takes More Than 1 Person To Know Football Than The Head Coach. But I Don't Except That Excuse About The Coach Being The Problem! These Kids Would Not Play For Any Coach With The Attitude Given And Excepted At Mchs. Not Many People Came Running For The Job So Cudos For Gerald To Step Up To The Plate. He's There So Support Him And Get Involved, Like I Said. Rome Wasn't Built In A Day, But It Did Have Help In Getting There.!!!

you guys are both correct the coach needs to be supported by the community if he knows the game or not. but it is not just the coaches job to change the way a community thinks about the sport yeah he has alot to do with it but the community has to take some interest and if those players liked the game even a little they would be playing no matter what to quote a Qliche( i think is the spelling) "for love of the game". but a coach that knows the game help way more than a coach who doesn't
but a community and fans that only has the interest when they are winning are no fans at all!

I quit becuase I wasn't having the fun with football I once had, and getting screamed and cussed at for no reason. I can totally understand get yelled and maybe some cussing if they tell you what to do and offer suggestions and then maybe tell you to suck it up.

From what I hear that parent deserved it and Coach Howard knows more than you think and is learning everyday, so big ups to the players that do play and don't quit for any reason. I f it is an excuse like working or helping parents and even gas prices is a good excuse. But because of coaches, you are not there for the coaches.

You have about as much common sense as a bail of hay.You know as much as what the hay turns into after it enters the horse's mouth. The long post by voice was probably the best post I have ever read on any thread. I am a parent, a coach, and a former player and that's my creditials. :ChairHit: :Guitar01:

:ref2:
ok...here is the facts....

daniel russell, did not play because he wanted to consentrate on basketball...
shane prater, came to one practice and did very well, but never showed back up. btw...he quit playing for dayne last year didn't he????!!!!
clay fletcher, he did quit due to being yelled at over a mistake.
robert bailey, he attended paintsville, left mchs, then came back but didn't want to play football.
dan brown, said he was hurting the team after the knott co. game.he was doing well.
justin howard, did not come out because he was working to pay off his truck.
tanner, he is there. he is suffering from ashtma. he would love to play.

ok there you have it!! all of these player were asked to play. the wierd thing is that there is alot more reasons to not play than the coach. i liked dayne alot, but he didn't perform miracles at mchs either.
