This is what one of Valley's seniors had to say when I asked if they were ready to play P-Burg next week, he was refering to a game in 2002, where aparently Coach Derossett played soph.s and juniors against 14 freshmen and 2 soph.s in a freshmen game.The score was like 75-7.... after finding out Valley only brought freshmen, he continued to allow the upper classmen to play.
Whatever or where-ever SV's motivation is coming from, IMO, this game should be a good one,plus it would assure Valley of no worse than a #3 spot in the playoffs.I've watched them closely since all the troubles they had in the pre-season, and IMO, if they ever have a game without a bunch of self- inflicted mistakes and play a full 48 minutes of football, this team can up-set almost anyone...and I do mean ANYONE.

now remember shelby valley played sc very very tough the whole game don't count them out from what i hear they have a very good nose guard probably the best in the district.

Shelby Valley's NoseGuard is a very talented football player. His name is Adam "Pudge" Ratliff. But don't overlook his offensive position..he does very well blocking on the offensive side of the ball as well, where he plays Right Tackle.

I Am The Greatest thats right SV did play them very tough i was talkin to a player from sheldon clark and he did say he was a very tough player and was real big he said there whole line was big and fast ... I think SV plays well against P Burg i think they win 20-18 in a close one... ne one else have SV with the win

As for the Shelby Valley vs. P-bur game, I see P-burg coming out with a win with a score of 35-21.

P-burg in a blowout just like every other year. Every game I have heard about how P-burg is struggling and this team and that team wants it more, but P-burg wins. Just like Magoffin Co and Pike Central said. Face it these teams aren't on the same level as P-burg. P-burg has the worst team they have had in a while this year and are still beating these teams by 3 TD's. And it won't change against Valley.

I'm normally not one to blame things on this or that. But had the refs made a few calls that they should have made then the PC P'burg game would have been a lot closer.. I know of about 4 pass interferance calls that weren't made.. granted there probably were a couple calls that weren't called on PC, but nothing that would have given them a bunch of yards and a first down..
Yes P'burg has been tough in the past, but this year is different. SV has a good chance to beat them.. I'm not saying they will, but they have a chance..

I think this is 3 years in a row now that Valley fans have said that they match up with Prestonsburg and every year the same outcome. When are you guys gonna learn? SV, PC, ER, and Magoffin are in the same league so expect the same outcome.

Maybe in 4 or 5 years SV and PC will compete with Pburg and Belfry for a district title, then maybe 8 or 10 years they will be able to compete for a regional title, but I dont see it happening before then.:wieghts:

sc is a powerhouse team as well everyone has their rebuilding years grant it i am still waiting to see belfry's but they will have one
with the exception of last season and 5 years ago sc has had a winning season every year, once they had their first winning season for 13 seasons and competed perenially for district and regional titles

Well I wouldn't consider SC a powerhouse. SC isn't a bad team, but I don't think they are a very good team just yet. They will be better as time goes on, but a normal Prestonsburg team would have killed SC this year. SC only beat Prestonsburg by 1 this year and Prestonsburg is terrible. Now I'm not saying SC is bad, but I think they have a lot of room for improvment as does many teams in our district/region. Sheldon Clark will however make it further in the playoffs than we will. So enjoy it while you can.

Note this my sofomore year and IM the greatest senior year we played bell county probably the best eastern ky team and almost beat em so if we were in 2a then there wood be no contest probably state champs we had so many play maker and athletes great line and the best coach im quit sure im the greatest will post about this

if am correct the 99 and 2000 seasons the combined score was like 90 or 100 something like that to 6 or 12 when sc played pburg so.......powerhouse we are or were!! but matney's prodigy willhave the exact scores of those games

Is this why brandon peters had 250+ yds i that game. And Brenton Hamilton went out early in the game so it could have been worse.

I think P-burg actually took it easy last Friday to avoid criticism of running up the score. So they made it look respectable. Expect the same in tonights game. It'll be a 3 TD victory, but could be a 10 TD victory.
