Sad thing is, it would be very tough to win a state championship with the 10 best players in the 15th region. I'm sure with these 10 players, they could win a game or 2, but not the whole thing.

Paperclip, Russell is 5-7, very strong, and quick as a cat. She is PHS's defensive stopper. She can change a game in a matter of minutes. Russell will be a household name by the end of the year.

Russell was the best shortstop in the region as a freshman. She was better than Clark at Betsy Layne. She stretched many singles into doubles and many doubles into home runs.

I'm just trying to tell you how athletic this girl is. If she guards M. Howard, she will keep her from getting the rebounds and the garbage baskets she got against PHS in the district finals. If Russell would have been guarding her that night, PHS wins.

I agree Michaela is a great player and I would love to have her on my team but it is unwise to come on here and make billboard material posts by saying that someone is going to eat another player alive. I'm sorry if you don't agree with my opinion but I do think that Emily Wireman will be a better choice at the five spot this year than Courtney McKenzie. Getting back to Michaela I think she is an outstanding player and as a matter of fact she is my favorite player to watch on Magoffin's team so I don't want anyone to think that I'm downing her. I hope that she has a great season this year and I would love to see her be included more in the offense. It seems like in a lot of the games that I watched last year that she was froze out in the offense by the Ashley and Brittany and I can't seem to understand why they are trying to stick her on the block instead of her natural position which in my opinion is at guard.

I couldn't agree more. All I've heard all summer is how she is the best player in the region and is the next POY. I had all these high expectations and when I saw her play in the summer, she didn't impress me at all against much smaller teams she should have dominated.

Emily did quit the team..Shame to not play your senior year.. She didn't rebound very well, didn't run the floor very well, etc.....

The week before from Tuesday-Thursday she played in 15 games at a team camp, then went to Pat Summitt's UT camp on Friday and played at least another 12 games thru Sunday. She got home around 11:00 pm and caught a few winks. Then she played in 6 more games over the next 3 days.

I was real disappointed in her play until I found out what she had done the week before. Don't worry, she will be well rested for this year. Nov 28, she starts her SR year against Prestonsburg at Paintsville. We'll see if she can continue her dominance of averaging 17 pts and 17 reb like she has done over the last 12 games.

Courtney Conley of East Ridge is one of the top players in the region. She dominated the Jarrell girl from Paintsville in camp this summer. Conley has lost weight and got quicker. The Hogoston girl from East Ridge is better than Jarrell. I agree with your other selections, but the Colvin girl isn't playing this season at Pikeville.:mop:
