I don't know enough about the mountain teams to really down the whole poll, but there is no way Johnson Central should be below Somerset or Leslie County IMO. I think they would handle either of these teams easily.

after tonights game i can understand having rockcastle ahead of the pirates but johnson central should definitely be higher than 6th

Yeah no kidding. And you are also telling me they can get past Ashland's defense? DOUBTFUL. But, this thing has always been a slight bit misleading.

Ashland just isn't considered a "mountain" team. Neither is Russell. Both of which would be on the poll if it extended into our area. We're just a little bit too far northeast.

Oh, I see. So would Pikeville be considered a mountain team?
No offense to the Ashland fans, because I've always had a problem with this as well. Ashland has never been considered part of WYMT's Mountain area.

I think we should email Brian Milam. Cover all of the mountain teams :beg::)

If Pikeville isn't a mountain team then there are no mountain teams.

It's just like our area Power Rankings in the local Newspaper. Here is how they look. It only covers 15 teams.
1. Ironton (OH)
2. Ashland
3. Johnson Central
4. Russell
5. Morgan County
6. Boyd County
7. East Carter
8. Paintsville
9. Lawrence County
10. Raceland
11. Fairview
12. Lewis County
13. West Carter
14. Rowan County
15. Greenup County
As you can see, it's very biased towards local teams and many many teams in this part of the state are not even considered. Those are the only 15 teams even considered by them. I think they do a decent job of ranking the teams they cover, but they just simply don't cover enough teams. It's the same for WYMT, there are certain teams that they just obviously don't cover or consider for their polls.

We are on our own for the most part. We have Ashland, Johnson Central now, Russell, Boyd County, and Lawrence. That's about it. Ironton but they've been overwhelmingly dominant for the past years.

They did, but Pikeville, IMO, is still the better team. They finished second in there distirct behind Paintsville with Hazard at the three spot.
