Some people have wanted to turn off the signature option and avatars. There is an option to do this with your personal account.
First, on the blue bar at the top...click on "User CP"
On the left side got to "Edit Options"
Under the "Thread Display Option" uncheck "Show Signatures" and "Show Avatars" -- or whichever you don't want.
