Abu Garcia is my favorite
Mine too.
Yeah the ole zebco 33 is good from ages 4 to 12 but to be able to be an effective fisherman you have to have a high quality rod. My favorite are the bass pro shop brand rods, they are designed by bass pro and are available in their catalog.

I don't fish much, but a good friend of mine uses an Ambassador 6000. He said to tell the ones uses a Zebco 33 to throw it at a 30 or 40 pound Rock fish and see what happens. He said it would probably explode in your hand lol.

Them are some money rods and reels but as they say you get what you pay for and they are both good I don't have any G-Loomis rods but I do have the Calcutta and it a great reel, I like the Falcon Low rider rods. Where do you fish at kybass88, I live on Yatesville as much as I can

Im a big fan of shimano and G. Loomis rods i have had a G. loomis rod made specificall for use with jigs that i have fished with for a long time they are expensive but its an incredible rod as for reels i use a shimano bait casting that is about 20 yrs old and i wouldnt trade it for any kind of new reel

A bass pro extreme rod, in a medium heavy or heavy action is the best all around pick. And my favorit reel is the Abu Garcia ambassadeur RX. Spooled with 14 pound test, they can handle nearly any fishing situation.

G-loomis by far. All Star is close behind though IMO. It really just depends on what type of fishing you are doing.
