South Laural's and Paintsville's game is suprising not that SL won by 20 points but it was such a low scoring game I thought both teams score a lot more points.

Well considering Paintsville's players had not been in a game and just 4 practices, I don't think anyone expected them to be. And this was in Rupp, its always a little different atmosphere.:****happe

How many of the football players are playing basketball?
I thought most of the basketball players had been working out with the asst. coaches all along. Does anyone know how many of SL basketball players played football?

only one I know of playin football was Ty Proffitt......most of Painstvilles players just got through with football and had only been in 4 practices so they dont have the chemistry going yet.....but as the season progresses coach Runyon will have the tigers clicking

Paintsville played right along with the defending state champs. They gave them all they wanted but just hadnt had enough time together as a team yet. Three starters came from football and they only had 4 practices under there belt. When they get some more practice and a few games under there belt, they will be really good.

You have to be smoking something.... I went down and watched that game and SL didn't even play hard... They was walking the ball down the court and just trying to run through their plays... It looked like Paintsville was just a bunch of practice dummies

That is not an accurate observation by any means. No one looked like anyone's practice dummies. I am a follower of both of these programs and neither team played hard or were very impressive...Both teams were very rusty and Paintsville more so because some of their influential players had been playing football a week longer than SL. South had some football players too I know, but besides Profit, I think that the others could be adequately subbed for in their positions until they knock the rust off.

You've got to be kidding!!! SL won by 20 points!!! How can you play along with someone and give them all they want and get beat by 20 points.

Old school you know that the Tigers are always going to be the best through some people's eyes even when they get drilled. Excuses are nothing.....How did the almighty Landon do?

I thought the mountain schools put on a good showing down there last saturday. The first game of the day was between two mountain teams, Barbourville and Buckhorn and was probably one of the better games of the day as Barbourville won on a last second shot.

Knott Central struggled at times against Clinton County, but played aggressive and never gave up even though two starters ended up injured.

leslie County destroyed Green Co. I think it was 40 - 14. Green was way overmatched in this one and Leslie didn't play particularly well, but got the big win, anyway.

Betsy Layne got the better of a very talented Lynn Camp team. the foreign exchange kid from BL could be a real player by the end of the season. It's pretty obvious that he is still adjusting to the style of play over here. if LC can get on track, they will make a run in their district.

Paintsville was just outmaned and that was obvious. They played extremly hard and looked good against the defending champs for a while. The only 4 teams down there that could have given SL a game was Henry Clay, Brentwood Academy, MMI and new Creations, IN. Everyone else would have probably been beaten as bad or worse than Paintsville.

Perry Central did not look as good as expected against a good Franklin co. team. Coach Holland has a more inexperienced group than he is used to. I would look for them to still be the team to beat in the 14th, however.
