From what i've heard they have a good group of kids returning next season. I think it will come down to JC an Ashland again for district champs!

Blume was one of the best backs in kentucky.......But he all so had a great line too... and the line means everything to a great running team
But all in all JC is going to have a good season next year.:thumb:

Shawn Grimm And Ian Welch Will Both Be Sophmores And They Both Showed Last Year That They Can Be Good Backs Too...

Actually Grimm will be a junior and Welch a sophomore. Grimm has the same exact running style as Blume. Welch is more of mixture between power and speed and is built like a receiver.

i think they'll be ok...from what i hear that district will be weak compared to the other district in their region again. So, i'd guess that Central wont make it past the first round again next season

JCHS will be much improved this coming season. I no way can they replace Blume with one man. They will do it with a number of people. With Johnson and Tacket on D they will be solid. Look for Ian Welch to have a great season on both sides of the ball.

One name to WATCH.....Cody Conley. This kid is a great player on both sides that no one seems to know about. He is a throw back player who plays tough! Also look out for a couple of Dillions next season. These brothers will be fun to watch over the next few seasons.

The Golden Eagles Will Be Allright Next Year With The Replacements Of Chad Hall And Daniel Pennington On The Offensive Line. Chad Hall Will Be Filling The Left Gaurd And Daniel Pennington Will Be Filling Left Tackle. Chad Is Not too Big But Is A Fast Linemen He Is Quick To Pull And Trap. Daniel Has Been hitting The Wieghts Hard. He Will Be A Threat To To D-Lines.

I see jc to be a well rounded team, there returning 9 starters to defense and ive heard about some transfers, Chase richardson and Ryan baldwin will both return from the line and they still have some monsters that will be jr's, Offensively they only lose 3 lineman, i believe they will be ok in this department, they will lose bloom and music, but shawn grimm and Ian welch should be able to make up for it, jk should be able to run QB very well to

biggun.7.06
01-16-2006, 11:09 AM
JC will still be a great team next fall. They have lost three big players in Blume, Music, and Flenchium. Still we have a good QB in JK he has a rocket, RB in Grim he stepped up all yr when teams was focusing on Blume, watch out JC has the tools to go far and I mean far. O and the will also will hte Apple Bowl again this season to make it three straight they should win it for atleast the next 4 season.

Without Blume, I find it hard for JC to do anything even closely compared to what they did on offense last year. Even when Blume had his off games he was always a threat and coaches were always watching where he was on the field every play. I didn't watch them play much but, in the Apple Bowl, the Belly Pass was wide *** open everytime because everyone was always to concerned with Blume. This year I don't think JC has a player that has the chance to break one at any given time like they had in Blume. Therefore, it will be much easier on opposing teams not having to focus in on Road Runner lol...

IMO it would be pretty stupid for Justin to play football this late in his career. Why would you risk a promising baseball career. As far as being tough enough there is know doubt that he would be tough enough, he's probably the very best athlete in that whole school. I've seen him do some pretty stupid stuff on the baseball field and the basketball court as far as punishing his body. I can only imagine the crazy stuff he would try on the football field. It;s kinda funny how that everyone thinks that just because we lose blume, that we are going to be horrible next year. He was one, very awesome player, but he was not our defense, or our passing game. Plus, Grimm will be all we need in the backfield since we will have a better passing QB next year

We had a very similar situation at Ashland back around the 2002 season. The previous season had been the last year for Arliss Beach. We had finished the regular season 7-3 the year prior. The next year, without Beach, we improved to 8-2 on the regular season.

There are just too many factors in football to think that one player will effect the next season. Other teams lose players as well. Remember that Ashland was the only district team that was able to beat JC last year, but they also depart in their all-time leading passer, Ian Holbrook, star WR Angel Gurule, and FB Tyler Reliford. Mason County loses star QB Ty Sargent. Boyd County loses RB Brennan Sargent, QB Luke Moore, and WR Austin Hunter. Lawrence seems to be having numerous problems all around. And Greenup, well they still have some time before they'll be considered a great threat within the district.

Johnson Central will be just fine. Every team deals with graduation loses. The best programs always stay near the top of the mountain, no matter who graduates.

You guys certainley will not be pathetic! BUT, you will not be state champs, region champs, and you might not even be district champs. Without Blume, your offense is nothing and Grim is NOTHING even closely compared to Blume. Well, I haven't seen Grimm lately but, in middle school, he was nothing and i would imagine that if he could indeed fill Blumes shoes, he would've gotten a lot more carries last season.

Plus, I'm guessing that you think that JK Ratliff is going to give you an "awesome" passing game. Well, let me tell you that he is way to afraid of taking a hit. He might have potential and he might have an excellent arm but, the kid is scared!

Your defense on the other hand, should be very good. Your DB's are looking a little weak but, other than that it looks like a very strong defense returning to JC. Craig Hampton and Ian Welch always have the possibility of being burnt. Blake Johnson though, is a stud lol we all must admit. He's one big ole' boy! Now he might actually get you somewhere on offense.

I'm not trying to be harsh in any fashion becaus ei wish luck to JC and Paintsville always. I'm just simply stating the facts and telling you how it's going to be. I'm not meaning to have any personal attacks in this post!

So how many JC games did you actually attend my all knowing friend?
And how do you know that JK is afraid to take a hit? Just because he got hurt doesnt mean that he is afraid to take a hit. Ratliff scrambled for a few TD's in the JV games last year, so i dont think is that scared.

I attended only a few games but, my post had nothing to do with last year. It was 100% about the FUTURE... Something that JC is certainley not looking good in!

Wow! JK scored in a JV game! That is amazing! NOT! The few JV games i watched JC play this year were all against very weak opponents. One in particular was the Pikeville game in which they beat Pikeville by 30 or so and let me tell you that scrambling for a TD in that game was nothing. When he's 6'4" 180lbs playing against people half his strength and size he shouldn't be scared!

Oh, and for the record, JK is an excellent QB if your offense is very pass heavy. I'm not trying to take away any of the kid's glory but, due to the fact that the kid has a pathetic 40 time and that he is unexperienced at running the belly, he will not fit into the system. I could be wrong there but, I just don't see it happening...

You can't know what we are going to be like in the future when you haven't seen us play in the past! There is no getting through that pessimistic mindset you have. So like I said before, go ahead and doubt us, we are use to it.

Caudill won't be playing in the backfield. It will be JK Ratliff at QB, Blake Johnson at FB, and the 2 RB's will be Ian Welch and Shawn Grim. I met the QB jk he is tall looks like he has a good arm and i seen him run and he is fast too well good luck to al jc players and fans
